Default HELP!

I'm not sure if I need a new clutch for my 05' tC it's just slipping when I floor it...like it wont grab it will even drag out my 5th gear going 45mph from 3000-6000rpm's in like 5 sec's and no I'm not super accelerating haha. If I can still shift does it just need to be adjusted if so where do I go and how much will it cost? Thanks!

AT minimum it needs adjustment, but you're probably lookin' at a new clutch.... just upgrade the clutch/flywheel while you're at it... it'll be pricey though...

45 is still third gear, why are you putting it in 5th?

and if you haven't done anything stupid to the car, the repairs will be under warranty if you need them, just go to the dealership.

Clutch = Warranty???? nope... only in RARE RARE cases... it's a highly wearable part that people can toast in a matter of days if they really wanted to...

Very few warranty claims in regards to clutch slipping ever get through.

well the only reason I was in 5th goin 45 was to save gas but, its just the fact that its not accelerating slowly...it is dragging out the rpm's and not accelerating. Is it ok to drive normally for awhile?

I wouldn't think you could hurt anything too much more than it is by driving it gently for a while... if you hammer it though, you'll be pushing RPMs and loading you engine while the clutch is slipping... I would get it at least checked out pretty soon though.

recommended shift point according to manual is 45 for 5th gear... if you're accelerating a bit though.. yeah.. of course i would shift later.

i usually shift at 45 or when it reaches 2500rpm in 4th before i shift into 5th.. saves gas.. but yeah.. that's if i'm just cruising.

i wait till i'm hitting at least 50 rpm to shift into 5th.
and then when i'm at highway speeds and it give it gas, my shifter vibrates in 5th. but for some reason the 2 techs that drove my car couldn't reproduce this...
i'm going to a different dealership soon

I think I'm having the same problem too. My acceleration stops after 4000 rpms.

Is there such a thing as clutch adjustment? Is it likely that I will need a new clutch?
