Default HELP with intake cleaning

ok, i have the weapon r intake, i used the cleaner, rinsed the filter, let dry, used the oil (which is green), let it sit for 10 mins (the can says for 3-5 mins) and i still see the green oil all over the foam filter. Is it suppose to be visible like this? Should i wait longer or can i put it back onto the intake?

I don't know about the weapon R, but the K&H uses a similar system and I know that one of the big downsides is that if you use too much oil, the airflow through the filter will suck it in and it can foul the oxygen sensor, which will throw a CEL and you're out a few hundred bucks. I hope you're ok there, but that's one of the things that's keeping me with the stock intake.

As long as the filter isn't dripping wet from the oil you're fine. Just put a nice even coat over the filter to provide a barrier.

Can you use the K&N recharge kit on the WR filters?

I'm sure you could, but there is no guarantee that it won't damage the foam. Also, using any product other than the recommended foam cleaners will void your warranty on the filter.

Totally off topic for the 2nd time today the filter fell off again. Once before the whole intake came off the TB stalled the car in the middle of an intersection. Everything was clamped as tight as it can be but I hope it doesnt fall off again. Good thing the CEL came on when the intake fell off or else I wouldnt havent notice for a while.

how could you not notice something like that? you would hear the rattles, your engine would sound alot different... etc.

if all your clamps are tight, i dont know why it is falling off though....

Yeah the engine would probably sound the same and if it didnt well the sound wouldnt be noticeable right away. Its happened to me on other cars.
