I got a eBay 4-1 header,s-pipe and full cat-back with a fart can lol all from eBay one res which came with the cat-back and no cats. The exhaust shop said there was no room for another resonator so other than removIng the header what else can I do to get rid of this crappy sound and not for to much money. I have searched everywhere with a million and one answers lol

 

The answers you got when you searched are the answers. Either take the header off or get a 4-2-1.

I have a full Megan setup and the rasp isn't really that bad.

 

Thats what you get for buying CRappy Car Parts.

IF you want a Quality Header that doesnt make Rasp buy the DEZOD Green Header.

what do you expect,you shouldnt be surprised that you bought crappy items and got crappy results,go get a dezod header it has a cat built in..

 

First stuffs not crappy fit and finish was perfect performance results as well and every header without a cat sounds like ____ no name or brand name so what's your point dezod has a cat obviously why it sounds better it's also $600 which I don't have.

But I think 4-2-1 will get rid of some rasp because of the actual shape/bends etc.

4-2-1 header won't solve the rasp issue....

I just increased my rasp by swapping out my 4-1 header and complete custom exhaust with the TSUDO complete system, 4-2-1 and even with the silencer it is still raspy.

I am adding the cat-converter soon, should calm some of the rasp but not completely.

 

You might want to try to take off the current resonator and buy one that has a better build quality...I can't imagine your ebay one is actually doing much at all.

 

Either get some cats installed, better quality resonator, ditch the current header or like everyone else said and get a dezod header. We're all being honest. Cheap exhaust setups can also contribute to the raspy sound you are getting. It just gets very tiresome when you see the same threads over and over again about the same issue when you could of searched for tons of solutions on this site or even on google for the matter.

 

I'm tellin' ya, you CAN get no rasp with the setup you have, kinda.

They are right about ebay res. are crap and if they aren't crap yet just wait, mine didn't last 8k miles before I got two high quality resonators welded in, They will fit trust me unless you got some wierd bends in your pipes. I got the ebay 4-1 header with s pipe, ebay fartcan full exhaust blah blah blah, yes me to and put the Ultra Quiet Resonator made by Vibrant which cut the volume in half, also the AR25 Resonator (more known on SL as a "rasp deleter". With that setup,,,my setup theres no rasp,, really none at all. However, when that vvt-i hits about 3k your gonna hear it and ppl think that of rasp when it's just the engine noises produced through pipes, thats what your hearing,, my exhaust is more of a drone not a rasp, completely conversation friendly on the highway tho, not bad at all. That's what most people would call rasp I guess but that's normal thing with these headers on a tC. Its just gonna be raspy... I'm right there with ya on not havin' $600 for a dezod catted header, screw that craziness. But yea you can fit resonators im tellin ya they r wrong. Btw i Just summed up everything you would find if you searched about this problem

 

Thanks for the help and I have SEARCHED plenty when it comes to this issue it's all about trial and error apparently. I know have 4-1 header magnaflow magnapack and trd muffler sounds a lot better barely any rasp at all and quieter than before.

 

You get what you pay for. Cheap header quality, cheap header outputs!

 

Yeh go pay $400 for brand name header and get same rasp with your $600 cat back!!!!

 

quit your _____ing. people are telling you that you should have expected rasp from buying a catless 4-1 header and a fart can...any header and fart can setup will have rasp. you either weld on more resonators or get rid of your ____ty ebay junk and buy another brand that has a better resonator built in or weld one in. you complain so much about stuff being too expensive, but if you had done it right in the first place you wouldnt be here asking for help would you? you drive a 4 cylinder for crying out loud. it will have rasp no matter what, its not gonna sound like v8 muscle.

This is why I waited and got the Dezod catted header. Because I did not wont to sound like a Honda. I do not have any rasp, but I am getting a little interior drone in the car. It is at its worst in 2nd and 3rd gear around 2500 to 3100 rpm half throttle. I am having a 18" Hushpower installed in the morning to see if I can get ride of it. Dezod header is well worth the money and is only 100 more than a new Weapon-r with out all the B/S.
