They are lowering the fuel pressure to scale down the larger injectors in closed loop. Then they are tuning the AFC to adjust open loop. They are also using a resistor to trick the air intake sensor.

All of this makes the SAFC a bit useless since you need to spring for a return fuel setup. Better off using the unichip or e-manage so you can adjust timing also.

So we cant tune below 4000 rmp cause of the cel? is this the only problem or does the check engine light actually do anything?like poor idle or other problems?

This fm looks really good. I def want to get it but curious as to how when i eventually turbo this will react to it?

Anyone installed one of these w/ the I/H/E set-up and ran a DYNO????

I heard the gains isnt that great unless you got FI installed. as a matter of fact any computer mod (piggyback too) on an I/H/E wont give you BIG gains

I was thinking of running a s-afc II and on a ZPI racing stage 0 turbo kit with a getting tuned professionally, I would be running my stock injectors, with the HKS SSQV instead of just a regular BOV so I won't be runing into a stalling problem, and of course a clutch if needed. What do you guys think about this setup?

Sounds good, but how much money do you think you'll spend? Maybe looking into other options would be good. But I think that is a good setup. But why get the s-afc II and not get an e-manage? How much does the e-manage and the s-afc II cost?

Emanage is the better option IMHO... I run the SAFC-II and after talking to a few guys... the Emanage is really where you want to go... you can trick the ECU and use the SAFC-II to run rich/ convert to a return fuel system.. like sound performance... but you have to do the whole shebang to make it work....

Once you put the whole combo working it on the track or strip maybe we will see the true potential of the fuel system.

why not wait a little bit...save up some cash..and buy aem standalone.... i just posted this in another thread and it just seems to me that removing the ecu out of the equation solves alot of problems? have people run into problems tuning with the EMS? or is it a compatability issue??

A standalone is way better then a Apexi S-AFC II........But there is a big money difference......You need to pay so much more to get a standallone tuned then a S-AFC II. If you are runing a small amount of boost a S-AFC II is fine but if you re looking for big power you need a standalone. I got the S-AFCII because it is the best bang for the buck (in my situation) and I only have to pay like 180 to have it tuned and work under 4000 rpm.........I like the S-AFC II for my setup but everyne has their own opinion....

They cant remove the ECU completely, they still need the stocker to control the DBW.. Thats the only setback, but the AEM works well, from what ive seen.
