how loud are headers?
Im thinking more and more about putting headers on my car but i have a few questions first. I have a fujita cai and a greddy sp2 exhaust with everything else stock, would putting the dc headers on the car make it alot louder like raspy? Becuase now its dead quiet unless you really get on it hard. Second what part of my warranty will be voided by doing this? Third will I throw a cel? Because i was thinking of getting that zpi s pipe that relocated the o2 sensor, and doing that i though would make it not trip the cel because of the first cat not being there. And finally would the difference putting the headers on there be something that would be felt?

Actaully it would probably be very raspy so youd want to get the stock resonator replaced with a larger one. The DC like the AlphaWerks header are both know to cause a lot of rasp. Also you will get a a CEL and the ZPI s-pipe may not fix it. Use the tried and true anti-fouler method and youll be fine as long as you dont damage the sensors during the install. The header is probably one of the best bang for your buck mods and youll definitely feel it. The removal of the pre-cat really increases flow making a lot more power.

i have same combo as you except injen cai. it wont be loud because you have the SP2. i've never had the SP2 without the header but under daily driving conditions, you get a nice tone as you accelerate but once you level off and go at a constant speed, it'll sound like stock.

1. What's a resonator, where is it located?
2. What is the pre-cat, how do you remove it?
I'm thinking about getting headers (some company) and a TRD CAI to go along with my TRD exhust.
And headers just can just screw off and screw the new one right on, right?
Thanks, I'm a

it gets raspy around 3700-4300 rpm. if ur auto, under daily driving conditions, you shouldnt be lingering in that rpm. correct me if im wrong but if you are a 5spd, you may be in this rpm band under normal conditions.

It will cause you to be raspy, to prevent cel buy the MMW CEL elminator os extender. And it will void warranty b/c your tampering with emissions elminating the catalytic converter. But good power gains with the header, had it before i went with turbonetics
