If a 2AZ-FE had an Axleback, Mid-Section, Downpipe, Headers, a Cam Regrind, Fuel control, a head port, and a CAI, Would that only add 20Hp? Someone from somewhere says it would BUT, if so, I'll be damned. Just wondering

only on a dyno apparently. not alot of people regrind their cams because they are fine for an n/a set up. fuel control is also a waste on a n/a tc...but intake, headers, and fully exhaust would make a noticibble difference. throw in some pullys and you might make it to 20 hp.

if he puts on a few stickers, maybe a trd badge, some racing stripes, or MAYBE a i-vtec badge, that'll push some serious numbers.

You would get WELL OVER 20 whp. The port & polish + fuel control alone should put you in the ballpark. This should give you an idea:

Add I/H/E and I'd say you've made supercharger-like gains, maybe more, and for less $$. Especially if you have P&P and exhaust work done by local shops.

How would I benefit from my local shops? Like custom piping w/ less bends? After a P&P, AFC, I/E/H would stock injectors suffice?

The benefits are saving money by having some of the work custom done by mechanics/shops in your area.

For example, instead of buying an expensive aftermarket exhaust (that may rob your low-end torque and/or not give the sound you like) you can buy the muffler, resonator, and hi-flow cat you want from a selection of manufacturers. If you're a welder all you need then is pipe & hardware. If not, take the parts to a local exhaust shop and have them weld & install everything. This can save hundreds of $$. (This is what I'm planning to do.)

Port & polish can be done by a local gearhead rather than send out to ZPI. Intake - you can either buy or go through Spectre which sells components to make your own custom intake.

AFC, header, (and s-pipe) you have to buy off the shelf.

The catch with going custom is having trusted, knowledgeable mechanic(s) to do the work.

You will probably have to upgrade your injectors, if you do P&P + I/H/E. If you need to that will show up in your tuning.

Oh well, maybe in another time. I WAS going all N/A, but just decided to go study Automotive Mechanics myself and do it better next time.
