Default i installed alphawerk header and creative compact s-pipe...

sup guys, well my s-pipe and header and anti-fouler came today and i decided to install it. well after about 4-5 hrs later.. i'm a lil disappointed. my car sounds horrible..and the power gains..i dont feel that much. i dunno why...

so my old setup was injen cai, trd exhaust and thats it.. my car was responsive and sounded great.

now, its injen cai, trd exhaust, alphawerk header, and creative compact stainless steel s-pipe. it sounds extremely loud and raspy. it rattles and i sometimes even get like a backfire poof sound... maybe something's leaking?

someon please help me, i hate how it rattles when i accelerate and it feel even laggier than before. i decided to take off the trd exhaust and put the stock ones back and it sounded even worst..it rattles all the time..anytime i gas it.. the good thing is.. i get no cel..

should i reinstall everything or maybe try to add a resonator to fix the sound? i doubt a resonator would fix it since the stock exhaust still has the rattling.. well someone pleez help me out. btw, i ended up messing up my a/f sensor the one that connects to the header from the old exhaust manifold and it like broke in half.. so i had to pick a new one up for like 200 bucks..

check for leaks and fix those if they exist
but definitely you need a big resonator

I have the same problem with the alphawerks and stock exhaust rattling. Im going to try a resonator and hope that takes care of it.

ok so i fixed the rattling problem.. heh, it was because i forgot to put on the gasket between the s-pipe and header. it got quieter but rasp is still there. i feel the power difference though now. imma head out to the muffler shop probably tomorrow or monday to get a new midpipe and resonator.. i'll let you guys know wats up.

i think the rasp is from the AW header. everyone who's installed it has gotten rasp. and if u hav trd exhaust that just makes it worse. try waiting a lil bit for it to break in. after that if its still bad, get the resonator. btw, how much does a resonator cost?

i have hks hi-power, DC sports header, CC spipe and injen CAI and my car doesnt rasp. without the spipe, it rasp only when the car is cold but now it doesnt. i love my spipe and i feel the difference not in terms of power but in terms of response.

You also may want to let the car LEARN your mods for about 30-50 miles before you will fill real power from your mods... You have added alot to the car in a short time, it needs to adjust... you reset the battery right?

yah, new parts, esp. when dealing with the exhuast part, needs to break in and build carbon up in the piping so makes the stuff sound "normal". same thing withmy rsx. RH made it raspy as hell, after a while being broken in, the sound is great.

the sound will tone out after the carbon builds up in ur exhaust system.

15k miles on my AW header and it doesnt sound anything like day 1

well i went to the muffler shop today and got a custom 2.5" magnaflow catback with a resonator installed.. car is much quieter now.. even quieter than having just intake and trd exhaust. however.. the rasp is still noticeable in the upper rpms.. i guess only time (and carbon build up) will cure that.. i dont like the sound too much though.. haha i miss my trd..

^^^^^how's it sound jeff?

anyways, well after two days of driving..it sounds OK..i guess. it doesnt rasp or start rasping until 3500-4000.
if i shift before 3500 it sounds deep and clean. if i shift between 3500 or at 4000 then its clearly raspy.. if i'm flooring it all the way to redline..then all you hear is the engine and intake drowing out all the rasp.. if i'm trying to accelerate fast also then i hear the rasp.. i might just put my trd's back, maybe take off the header even.

as james said, disconnect the negative on your battery for a few mins to reset your ecu.
