I need to jack up my lowered tc, which is better to use?
Alright I'm kinda stuck on what to do cause I need to change my exhaust. I was looking at the rhino ramp but I dont know if thats going to be high enough for me to get under and do work. so I'm guessing I will have to use a jack and some stands but what is a good low-profile jack that will get my car high enough off the ground to get under and take off and put on a new catback?? I'm just worried about gettin under that low ___ car. And also if you know a place I can buy one instead of ordering it online cause all I wanna do is use it and then return it the next day lol. I will purchase it later when I got the extra money to keep it. Thanks in advance

it broke lol, i was jacking the car up on a windy ___ day and i guess it pushed the car to the side a little bit and the car basically fell on it. im looking at this though http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...w-profile+jack
will this get it up high enough cause i have some 2X4 and then maybe jack the car up with this and hopefully ill be good. i just dont know if the lift range is good or not cause i dont understand it. its the highest one i seen out of the others it says 20inches max. if it will get the job done i will pick it up tomorrow at sears

The ramps might be high enough but you probably would still need the piece of wood in front of it so you dont damage your car by scraping it. I would just say invest in a low profile jack cause then you could use it for all your oil changes and such.

the sears one probably made in the same chinese factory that the ones at harbor freight are made! did you read the reviews on sears.com about this jack? they're all talking it's LEAKING OIL! I had a cheap $20 jack from them that leaked.. Okay so I'm out 20 bucks.. but $129? Isn't there somewhere else with good stuff that would be low profile? anyone?

Actually, Harbor Freight is a great place if you are going to abuse your tools. They are cheap and if they break, they are easily replaced. I've broken a ton of stupid tools from them and only spent like $20. I love it!
As for a jack, as suggested I'd look for an autozone or something and see if they would have one they could rent you out. You don't have a jack/stands at all? If your problem is your jack is too big and won't fit under for some reason, you can use your spare tire jack, jack up on side and that should lift your car high enough to get a normal jack under and jack it up completely to put it on stands.
I had to do this with my old car because the previous owner had it crazy low, was a pain, but was the only way I could jack it up.

some things to remember when using ramps or jack stands:
1.) Apply the parking brake, get out of the vehicle and securely chock the remaining wheels on the ground
Before starting work, walk around the vehicle ensuring it is securely positioned.
2.) Always use jack stand if a person will be going under the vehicle.
3.) After the work is complete, check the parking brake is still firmly on and remove the chocks.
