I need a new clutch on a low budget
So my last clutch i had a cheap ebay clutch kit. I loved it, it felt the exact way i wanted it, but it broke, which i expected from a cheap ebay clutch. so now i'm looking for a new clutch and i can't decide what to get. i've been done some research, and i was deciding between a stage 1 from another cheap ebay seller, it's the F1 from gripforce (it's not the same as i had before). or the oem replacement from exedy.
i really wanted a stage 1, but i don't have much money, i'm trying to figure out if i could get the stage 1 exedy, but the problem is that i don't know if the extra $200 is worth it. i don't really need it, i don't have very many upgrades, but i'm hoping to in the future.
so what do you think? the labor to replace the clutch isn't an issue.
so pretty much, to sum it up, (f1-stage 1 vs exedy-oem) vs exedy-stage 1 with $200 increase

okay...how many miles did the ebay clutch last you? how many ebay clutches equal one quality brand name aftermarket clutch? how many clutch swaps do you not mind having done?
if it were me, i'd plan to just get one good clutch and never worry about it again. a good clutch should last the life of the car, if it doesn't, then there is something wrong with installation or operator driving habits.
unless you have forced induction plans to increase power down the ride, no amount of bolt-ons like cold air intakes or headers will increase the engine power to the point that you'd need a high performance clutch. so just get an exedy OEM and be done with it. or if you like the way performance clutches feel, cough up the extra 200, and you'll have it with you everywhere you go making driving that much more fun, which could be worth it to you.
