Default i want to go fast....

hey all!
i'm new to this forum, but you guys seem really cool and helpful bout stuff, so here's where i stand:
i'm 18 and a senior in high school, and i have been givin a full ride for the next 4. i've dug scions ever since they toured before they were even in production. how much modding $$ will it take to get a TC or an Xb to do high 13's low 14's in the quarter? thanks alot everyone! any input you can add will help in my decision making!

A tC is much easer to make go fast than an xB. And as tcsciontist said, turbo.

im holding off on the stickers i feel there like nitrous since the engine doesnt have to work to make the monster power you get from them there basicly cheating

realy though you can get the s/c and mod it the hell out and keep a warrenty for about 4-5k that is most likely with a nice suspension included and hell a decent cd player to

other options are turbo but no warrenty there and also nitrous i actualy like the nitrous rout and did a nice little guide to it some where on here but as far as how ppl will view you for using it (the will talk crap) its realy safe if used properly and not the cheap way (isnt that right wedrivescions)

and yeah i need to go do some work so ill stop typing now

I'd wager you could dump 10k into the tC in go fast mods easily.... might consider buying something else if you wanna start with a stronger platform.

you wont keep the warranty if you mod the hell out of the supercharger.
the warranty only covers what TRD intended for the tC, not what you intend for the tC.

There is no way you are going to hit high 13's with a warranty, unless you completely strip the car. Low 14's may be possible with a warranty, but still will be difficult.

Evo MR all the way if you want a warranty
Supra if you dont want the warranty

You can get an xb into the 14s.. 13s might be a lil difficult.

a tC you can get in the 13s. so just save up that money and get a quality turbo kit and all the other things needed to make those numbers.

^ trd is going to eventualy come out with the air to water intercooler and as long as you buy a replacment little tab thing for the pullys or dont install yours when you install your s/c you can just slap it back to stock and that should be fine then get the harness thing that dezod sells and the emanage to tune it without cutting any wires for the ecu

and some light weith rims and some drag radials a full exhasut with a mmw header and a intake and you cant tell me that would be in the low 14's high 13's not easily swapable back to warrentied condition

TRD never said they were coming out with any type of intercooler for the SC.
And i really hate when people try to rip off dealers. That is the reason why it is so hard for most of us to get legit warranty done.

Evo MR? Pfft. STi, baby. I used to own one (until it was broken into repeatedly forcing me to dump it; stupid thieves...), and it was a helluva lot nicer than the Evo's I've seen around. Yes, I've seen all the Evo vs STi reviews, but I'm convinced Mitsubishi's slipping them some cash to vote for the Evo.

Back on topic, I've been thinking about the speed thing myself. I had considered the TRD Supercharger, but wasn't really impressed with the performance for the price they're getting; $3k *before* installation for 40hp? Seems a little steep to me. I like the idea of going the turbo route, but as mentioned above that's gonna kill the warranty... But hey, stickers are cheap, and they're like 5hp each, right?

TRD supercharger will put you at 190WHP

thats a 50WHP jump, which is about 65BHP
