That's sweet, now I don't know if we should wait for the 6spd LSD equipped Tranny that's on the ZPI table, or go ahead and get the LSD for the stock tranny.

Bah, I do not need a 6 speed. The lsd would be good enough or simply the final drive out of a camry.

Our tranny just needs a little longer legs is all. Nothing more. especially for those of us that are boosted.

We are boosted, in case you didn't notice. And when I'm cruising at 80mph, I feel like I need another gear. Just my opinion. The question didn't really need a response, I was just thinking out loud to myself.

127mph comes real fast now that we are boosted. One time I was doing some spirited driving, and before you know it, I'm in the 120's. I was like Holly Mother of God!

which is exactly why I said our car needs long legs, actually read my post which is why I said camry final drive would be nice for "those of us that are boosted" our cars are geared to short. A 6th gear can solve this...... or for a 1/4 of the price of a 6 speed, a better final drive with solve this with ease and you can keep the 5 speed. Heck you can have the lsd, keep the 5 speed and have better gears with a simple final drive change.

Is there anyone pondering on taking up this project yet? I would like more info. on what it would take to alter the final drive.

If its using the GTS tranny, I dont want anything to do with it. They crumble under stock hp...

As for the taller 5th, just swap a Camry 5spd in...it looks like a direct fit.

Why couldn't someone just take the specs of the GTS tranny and just make a stronger more lightweight one for the tC? I would think people would hop on that for the simple fact that it would be different.. maybe just sell it on a need basis only.. make it from scratch, unless the demand is high.

On that note, there isn't anything you can do to make the GTS tranny stronger as is? On a scale of 1-10, how bad would you rate this crumbling? I would only hope that you would say 2 or 1
