Sweet, any word if the camry manual diff bearings are the same or did they do small changes to the tc tranny like they did on the engine internals..?

I remember a couple of people mention the possibility, but is the camry final drive interchangeable? I just figured that with the tranny all ripped apart to install the quaife, it would be the opportune time to do it.

yeah it would be, I have "heard" from some techs on here that it is interchangeable... I have not done it yet personally but I also plan to as first gear and most of second gear is worthless.

when the parts department looked up the bearing info for me they referenced it by motor and not by the car...so i imagine its interchangeable.

wow that's good to know. I'd really like to hear from someone who's done it to find out how it performs. definitely would be something to look into when I finally get around to supercharging.

totally agree on the first and second gear thing... tc's arent exactly off the line demons... but once you hit 3rd you really start to get the meat and potatos then.... though the first time i drove it i felt (and still do) that it could use a higher final drive... it will be interesting to see how this ZPI 6 speed turns out... at least i think it was ZPI... hmmm.... why cant i remember

let me be more specific so you don't misinterpret what I'm saying. they looked up a blueprint of the assembly by referencing the car...but the blueprint was labeled with the engine code rather than the model of the car.

your telling me, you should see the car I'm driving in the mean time.

1992 Salvaged Volvo 240
-no windows (I pull them up and down using the bottom of a plunger)
- no radio (headunit was stolen)
- no Air Conditioning
- bad transmistion
- almost borken differential
- multiclolored hood
- squealing brake pads
- no brake lights
- no cup holders (on place for my morning coffiee!)
- no wipers or wiper fluid.
- all of this riding on one hel of a slick Spare tire. (estimated about 2500 miles on it)

I'm worried about driving it. and I'm even more scared to check the fluids, cause that would mean more money I would have to spend on it. (I'll post pictures for a good laugh during my lunch break)
