Injen CAI installed....but wait...
Well I got my Injen CAI installed the other day and it's working great. The thing is, mine looks nothing like anyone elses Injen CAI that i've seen.
Unlike the CAI in that picture, my pipe continues down into the fender and the filter isn't visible.
I'm hoping that having the filter visible is just a personal preference, and not the way it's supposed to go.
Sorry i'm just a worrier...that's why my friends call my whiskers.

There are two styles/formats you can install with the Injen Intake....
One is ShortRam, like the one you posted above, the other in CAI, like the one you had installed....
Mine is chrome, but same deal
Look Familiar?

It's quite easy.... I believe he has his installed by a shop....
It's best to take off your front bumper, and the plastic inside your driver's side wheel, along with taking that wheel off.... it gives you much more room to play around with... all the rest is just following the instructions.
There are guides online here if you do a search about removing your front bumper.... (It's actually not that tough)

3 hours wow, took me 45 min, i jsut decided to take my wheel off, pull out the bumper a lil and loosen the fender, to slip the intake in. And it was my first time doing it too. Did it my own way cuz the intructions i got were impossible to read. Thing sounds very nice especcially in the higher rpms. Cops at my work followed me for 20 min cuz of it, but left me alone cuz i kept rpm under 3k (stock sound almost). Dont rev engine near cops is a helpful tip.

I'm doing this install in a couple hours, I'll be going short ram until I can find more time to convert it over to cold air.
I assume that I should still disconnect the negative battery cable? And how long should I let the car sit and idle to allow the MAF to adjust?

even if you are jst doing the SRI, you still need to disconnect the battery and let it idle fo 5-10 min. then drive it around for a bit. and check you connections.
and yes your rpms will start off at the 1.5 range and drop to .7/.8k, that is normal.
and the bumper is easy as f**k to take off. like ten screws and clips then pull.

?? are you the one that melted yours???
honestly that was more like a freak series of events, this car is really easy to work with, if I can mod this car then anyone can.
i get were you are coming from, just take some time to reboot, and get back on that horse.

I'm throwing on the CAI pipe tomorrow. I'm sure it'll sound quieter then the current way I'm running the Injen (SRI), but more hp > noise.
So just take off the driver side wheel, take off the plastic crap, and I'll be good to go huh?
