Default Injen Exhaust Review

I got a local tC owner who came in the shop today and brought in his Injen exhaust.

Installation was easy of course, being axle back.

WOW. The sound is AMAZING. So deep, wowed everyone in the shop. This is definately what I'll be going with. Sound and throttle response improved tremendously. Definately, wow.

Now for the not so WOW part. The exhaust tubing is bent too far from the crossmember to where there is a good 2-3 inch gap between the two. His car isn't lowered (yet) so it's no issue, but anything more than a TRD drop and you'd have to worry about a speed bump ripping it off. It's pretty low for sure. Maybe if a few other injen owners could take a pic of their underbody, others would see what I'm talking about. Of course, no way to really bend the pipping (without a pipe bender).[/u]

Couple of questions- did the tc also have a Injen or other CAI? And how loud was the exhaust. i just installed the injen CAI yesterday and im loving it and was thinking of getting the exhaust also but i don't want a very loud exhuast but i want to upgrade from the stock.

For me this exhaust is just right, it’s not too quiet and it’s not too loud, just right.

It hangs low but I haven’t scraped yet. I have TRD’s

It’s about 5inches off ground

No CAI, but you still hear the whine from the stock air box. He's getting the CAI and when he does we'll install it for him then too. It is pretty loud, but NOT annoyingly loud. I am going to ask him how was it on the highway cruising (then again, I could ask Mystik right now... ok I did).

Again, best sounding exhaust I've heard. And the angle Mystik posted that pic you don't quite see the tubing, it does sit pretty low like he says. If you scrape it though, you have rubber hangers that will give way so all you'll have is a scratch on your piping.

It certainly won't hit the ground on normal driving, but I'd definately be consciencious of speed bumps..

Should be directly bolt on. Just use your stock bolts and gasket and you should be good to go.

yea i love my injen exhaust and it is not THAT loud but nice deep sound that i cant really describe hehe and yea that tubing is kinda annoying but oh well. it's not a big deal thou for me, ive been driving with it for 7000-8000 miles now and it hasnt scraped anything yet so dont worrya bout it.

about the install.... takes 20 minutes or so, all u need is a gasket that it comes with, a wrench and some wd-40 or liquid wrench to loosen the stock bolts .... also do it with a buddy makes it easier cause he can hold it in place for you, it is possible to do it urself thou(i did)

how much did the TRD's lower your car? Ive heard about 1.3-1.5 inches. I dont really want to lower mine much more than that anyhow... but I was just wondering.

mine isnt any lower than the other picture that was posted. I took that picture on an uphill slant from my driveway and the shadows make it look lower than it is.

my pipe isnt any further away from the suspension than the other one
