Injen Exhaust Review
#41
OK, this is the only thread I found talking about he low hanging Injen.
I currently have the injen exhaust and it sound AWSOME!
When I first put it on, I measured, and it was only about half an inch lower then the stock. I have TRD springs, so no problem, it just looks low cause its not black.
However, I think it has dropped more since then, like another inch.
I am switching to Hotchkis springs, and I'm afraid it's going to be too low. I am considering swapping to the Megan which sounds great, is a cat back, is cheap and the pipe is not bent nearly as much.
I also like the HKS but is pretty pricey, considering I already have the Injen.
So what I was looking for is if anyone had any ideas how to raise the elbow on the Injen a little bit for better clearence.
Any ideas?

Which Megan exhaust ? the oem or drift ? because the drift hangs just as low as the injen (plus the muffler sticks out more so you would have a better chance of scrapping). I have had my injen exhaust since last aug with no problems (and thats with 4 people in the car at times). I would check all the hangers just to make sure that they are all on right. Also it could be your springs setteling I think I have got more like a 1 1/2" - 1 5/8" drop with my trd springs

The drift

In these pics, it's not hanging down at all.
And yeah, with the TRDs, it was OK, but with the Hotchkis, I don't know, it's kinda sketchy.
I would prefer the HKS, but it's kinda pricy.
If I mess with the hangers, it will lift the whole exhaust, not just the elbowo, so then the tip would be closer to the bumper.

OK here are 2 different angles of my exhaust and a video clip. Im cleaning my car tomorrow btw. Kinda dirty.
You can see how high the exhaust hangs when I back up. If you turn up your sound you can hear the intake whistle too. Im lowered on TRD Springs and I love my Injen Exhaust and Intake, havent had any problems with scraping at all.
The bend in the exhaust is lined up with the wheels so if the wheels go over a bump they'll carry over the exhaust piping too.
On some computer speakers it sounds raspy. Find someone that has it in your area so you can listen to it in person(Thats what I did). Sounds so nice and deep.

Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is right or not, but after installing my injen exhaust, I notice that the car's not accelorating as it did before. Maybe it was my expentancy level, but I usually didn't have to put the foot down dramatically hard to accelorate in the stock exhaust. But in this exhaust, I feel as if instead of gaining a tiny fracture of hp, I lost some. Would the way the exhaust bending cause airflow restriction? I don't think there's a need to reset the ECU like a friend suggested after installing the exhaust. Anyways and there's the rattle issue, I hear it when I apply pressure on the brakes, but when I release, this only happens when the car is at a stop light or I'm reversing. When it's idled it's not rattle so I can't phsyically get out of the car and see. But If anyone can help out, that would be awesome. I'm probably going to do some search in the meanwhile. I type too much,

If there is a rattle, then you may not have it tight enough, so that may cause your decreased response. But no, I noticed no difference at all, except sound. It's only an axle back.
