yeah the filter was directly behind that hole in the front bumper thats off to either side. After that happend I put the factory intake back on after trading somebody for theirs.
I was lucky and got my insurance to pay the $7,000 bill from the dealership for a new engine after my $500 deductable and played dumb saying that i bought the vehicle used from the dealership like that and thought it was factory.

No, you'll be fine...............but, if you still are worried, just get the Bypass...............but honestly, stay away from puddles or holes in the ground with the ocean coming into them. It's really overkill but if it'll help you sleep better, then get it.

It works on any intake, you just have to cut the intake a bit. You cut about 1/2 inch from the intake and slide it in. Again, something I wouldn't want to do and it's just more work than it's worth.

People are geting waaaaay too worried about something that will not happen on a tC.
You will not hydrolock with a CAI installed on a tC. I have been running mine for close to two years now and have never had one problem. Hell, I don't even have a splash guard on the bottom of my front bumper and have driven through large puddles and rain.
Just don't drive into a large body of water.... like a swimming pool, ocean, lake, etc..... (if you somehow manage to do that, i'm sure hydrolocking will be the least of your worries)

Get the measurements that it says off the filter and select the one you want.

Something to keep in mind though: "Sleeve is water repellant, but not water proof."
I still am very sensitive to driving in high flood areas. I live near Annapolis and it floods there a lot in the parking lots with a heavy rain. I do a lot of highway driving in the rain and lots of city driving as well. The hydroshield will help prevent most of the problems from hydrolocking but your filter can collect so much water and trap it causing a hydrolock. This is just a preventative measure, not a 100% fix for the problem.
You can keep the cutout on the bumper closed to keep almost all water off the filter if you want. It doesn't impead performance of the filter at all.
