injen intake illegal?
i have gone to most injen sites.. and they never really give a CLEAR statement on whether the injen intake is illegal or not in california... they say it is still "pending" ... but also i was thinking... who the hell would really kno under your hood.. unless... outta nowhere.. the cop jus ask you to open your hood

^ Why are u asking this question? Do u live in cali? It just wont pass smog in which you dont have to worry about for 5 years. There also is a search button which will lead you to many topics discussing this.

What is this??? Like your third post on CAI's??? Listen, no CAI for the tC is CARB legal. They all make about the same hp.
Actually yes a cop can randomly pull you over and pop your hood if he has probable cause...ie the loud a$$ suction niose coming from under your hood. Cops are not dumb and they get training to look for engine swaps and illegal modifications. If you are that paranoid about it being legal or not then you should not get it.
And please...USE THE SEARCH. Many people ask the same question almost daily. I am not the first to recommend this to you!
And finally...stop using bold print on all your posts!

Look on your intake.. if it doesn't have a Carb # sticker on it.. its probably illegal.. Now look inside your passenger side storage area. If you don't have a card with carb #s for your intake its definitly illegal.

It takes a lot of time (and $$$) to get a carb EO. If you're concerned about being cited during a traffic stop, I'd wait to install an intake until they get EO.
Don't worry, they'll get it.. Cali is a big market, just takes time.

Also if you are driving recklessly (this does not only include street racing. If you have exhaust intake etc modifications and you are pulled over for even doing 30 in a 25, it gives the officer probable cause to check under your hood.) an officer can check under your hood and if you are illegal he can have your car towed and impounded.

i wouldnt sweat it.
if you do get popped, the cop may send you to the state ref ($35). just put your stock intake back on and get it checked off. same goes if you have a header (obviously more work to put back to stock).
now if you have something like a direct port nitrous setup or an illegal motor swap, then you got a real reason to be scared of getting popped.
honestly, i dont think all that trouble is worth the $230 for the intake and the 5 hp gain.
