Ok, before I get yelled at by others--I HAVE searched, I've been reading these forums since I got my tC 4 months ago on my 17th birthday .

Now, I'm definately new to modding engines, but I'm a risk taker.

I kinda grasp the concept of short ram vs cold air intake, but now my question is.. should I even think about getting a CAI? I hear that sometimes you gotta take it off depending on road conditions and such. I've been looking at getting the secret weapon-r with a cold air box-as i've heard the box can actually stay cool.

Don't tell me I'm wasting my money, because I love to spend =D. I'm just looking for a nice growl and don't care that much about performance boost.

If all you are worried about is sound get the SRI. Easiest to install. I have no idea why you would need to take the intake off depending on weather. You wont get water in there unless the car is in over a foot of water. You got bigger problems if you do that.

Well, I guess I'm not ALL about the sound, but I was trying to say, I'm not a drag racer, so any boost is a good boost

I'm really kinda narrowed down to the Secret Weapon and the Injen CAI. Ease of install isn't an issue, I'm lookin forward to playin around in there.

I guess what I'm trying to find out is, why not just get the Secret Weapon-R with a cold air box instead of the Injen CAI? I'm lookin for advantages or disadvantages with both-price maybe? and , not taking into account of installation..

I just put on my CAI, K&N Typhoon....i love it, i would strongly suggest it. Sounds great, and i can feel the added power.
