Default Which intake is best for the tC?

Can someone tell me what the difference is between these intakes?

Which intake should I get to install on my tC?

1) Weapon R Secret Weapon Intake

2) Weapon R Dragon Intake

3) K&N Typhoon Cold Air Intake

4) Injen Cold Air Intake

As of now, I have my mind set on the Weapon R Secret Weapon Intake.
Someone please help me decide between these.

I know it seems like a contradiction, but when it comes to performance parts tend to favor those with better reliability (rather than performance). I would choose injen or secret weapon.

If that's the case, then go with K&N. They offer good performance and have a long, reputable history of offering top quality and reliability. Weapon R, notably the Secret Weapon intake, has many posts in many forums regarding the questionable quality and reliability of their product. You don't have to search forums for long to see what I'm referring to. This topic has been discussed alot.

What I want to know is which intakes will be compatible with the TRD supercharger and if they will offer more HP gains than stock. I've heard that several of the intakes currently available for the NA tC engine will not be reccomended or compatible with the SC.

I have the WR SW intake and it has been great. If I was buying one today I would go with the Injen CAI. This is because it can easily be converted into short ram if needed. Both the Injen and K & N are pretty much going to yield the same performance results. I soon may be picking up an Injen to replace my WR SW.

first, did you do a search on intakes for the tc???? There are atleast 5 threads on this subject. It all dpends on your personal preference. there is a dyno test out there on a *bunch* of intakes. What the results show were pretty astounding: almost all the after market intakes were within 1-3 hp of each other. Differences between CAI and SRI were as little as 2-3 hp difference.

basically, what it comes down to is this: in the TC, most intakes are going to be designed very similarly to one another, with respect to design type (one CAI will look almost exactly like another), and therefore perform similarly. The reason is the physical layout of the engine bay is a huge constraint in regards to design. So the only significant factors are now whether you prefer a SRI setup, or a CAI; what brand you are most loyal to; and price point.

Weapon R *may* have had some bad products at some point, but I've never seen *any* post on this site, from an actual weapon r owner, complaining about the quality, performance, or anythign else of their intake. On the contrary, i've heard nothing but good things. It's the same with K&N intakes.....non owners always mention stuff about possible "hydrolocking".

As of thus far, according to unofficial information, *no* intakes are compatible with the SC. The SC comes with it's own intake. But seeing as how that information hasn't come directly from toyota/trd/scion, I'm considering that speculative.

Hope this helps

If you had the choice between black and polished for an Injen Intake which would you choose? I can't make up my mind!
