Default IPT Electro-Matic Manual Controller

I came across this Today, I'm VERY Intrigued.
I knew a Guy with a Homemade Shift Box on his 97' TSI AWD and it was AWESOME!
Any Pros and Cons to this would be Helpful.
Thanks a lot!

Forget that Link, they make one for the Toyota Trans too.

They make one for almost all of their Transmissions.. an Eclipse just happens to be the Model for it.

im interested, but i wanna know has anyone tried it out, or is anyone willing to try it out. Transmissions arent cheap, and i dont have a crap load of cash laying around go go and experiment with stuff like this.

I'm Guessing that I'll be the First.
Hopefully within a Month.
This could be really Great for us.
I've been back and forth with IPT for Information, but I Work while they do, so I can't Talk for too long.

I would be worried about tranny problems with a stock auto tranny.....

I think this is for more built tranny applications....

What do you intend on using it for? What is yoursetup?

Well I just Spoke with IPT, and they say it would work fine on a Stock Transmission, its also Warrantied.
They told me if I intend to Boost with it afterwards, a Torque Converter and Valve Body Upgrade is a Must, I figured as much anyways.
This is a Great Product since you can Toggle back and forth.
Right now I'm Completely Stock, using Fully Synthetic Oil and Trans Fluid from ENEOS.

Why not just let the car do the shifting? Isn't that the point of an automatic transmission?

Yeah it is, but with this, you can hit Higher RPM's before having it Shift, which can come in Handy. It gives you a little Control over it, when you want it.

ya im sure the product has a warrenty, they are not going to warrenty your tranny man....This dude is just trying to sell a product of course he is going to say its cool with a stock tranny and what not....

Just trying to sell you on something you obvioulsy dont need, why dont you save the 500 bucks towards boost instead of buying stuff like this when you dont even have it?

well, im already boosted (s/c'd), and what im looking for is a quicker shift time. i drag race with mine, and i know that if i could tune some of the torque management (GM term...not sure what its called for Toyota) out of the trans to allow for a quicker, firmer shift, then i know that my times would improve. i dont know if this box allows for a quicker firmer shifts, or if it just acts a locker in every gear and prevents the trans from going up or down in gears. But again, with a stock trans, im not sure how quick and firm the shifts can be without breaking somthing or dramatically lowering the life of the trans.

Ty over at IPT has been Talking with me, and he's still getting back to me in regards to this.
He's doing his Research and making sure it would work out well with a tC, cause it's for a General Toyota, so he's definitely looking out.
He reccomended a Torque Converter and Valve Body Upgrade if i Plan on Boosting with it.
