Default K&N Typhoon CAI for 07

Okay, I've read through all the posts looking for information pertaining to the K&N Typhoon CAI and have only heard one posiitive thing about it (From Dollar, the guy that has been working with engines)

What is so different about the K&N that makes it not worth mentioning? I know that everyone has been saying that an intake is an intake, so it really doesn't matter which brand you get, but there has to be SOMETHING worthy about the K&N Typhoon CAI....other than its in the same price range as the TRD intake....

Random question - Do you have to take off the bumper for the K&N CAI for a 07 tC? I remember when I put in my VRD fogs, I had a little trouble getting the bumper to line up with the headlight sides again - I'd hate to have to take it off and put it back on and have the bumper misaligned...

Thanks for reading!

AEM makes the TRD intake i believe. The K&N intake is the worse one you can buy for our cars, Go injen!! alsooo Fujita, and yes you have to take the bumper off.

+1 to Injen, i love mine. And no you dont have to take the bumper to install the injen and I doubt you have to for the K&N. Just have to take the front wheel off and then the plastic wheel well guard, IMO that is easier to do than taking off the bumper, lol

K&N Typhoon is an airbox/filter mod, so no removal/it retains the stock tubes that run through the bumper. K&N makes quality products, & is preferred for CARB/Cali legality. I'd think any of the CAI would be a better choice.

... as in Injen, TRD, & AEM Cold Air Intakes, that omit the airbox & put the filter behind the faux brake/VRD foglight grille. This'd require removal/loosening of the bumper which the OP indicated was a problem B4. IMO, OP mentioned differences & why K&N was passed over for other brands.
