Loud and raspy exhaust best idea for fix?
So last summer, over a small duration, I bought tsudo 4-2-1 header, downpipe, and midpipe. The axleback currently installed is the TRD option muffler. The current setup has gotten rid of both cats, of course, and left me with the muffler and a resonator on the midpipe leaving the exhaust a little too loud with that obnoxious rasp. I was looking for the best idea on fixing this without redoing the entire exhaust or spending too much, basically a want more of a rasp-less throaty sound that's not quite so "ricey". I don't know how a silencer would affect the current sound or if that would fit on the TRD's oval tip, so I thought I might try it with a different muffler, perhaps the tsudo N1 or fireball, or something you guys think would be better. I kind of want to stay away from welding another resonator on but if that would instead be the best idea I simply want to give my car the best sound, especially since I used to have a V8 Dodge Dakota, granted I'm not expecting anything near that old sound, but please help.

Get rid of the TRD, every combo with the TRD that I have heard sounds horrible. You could weld 2 resonators on but I think with the TRD it will still sound raspy at higher rpms. Look around and see if you can find a used HKS or something like that.

WEll first thing you have to do is get a cat back on the mid pipe, then get good quality resonator, not a glasspack,a resonator of at least 16-24" long, then dump the TRD as it will never sound good with a header and no matter whatyou do to mid pipe it will not sound good either, been there done that.......

Here I searched for you, just typed in rasp. Funny how many other posts there are with the same question.

Got rasp? Get an Aero AR25 resonator...it will eliminate rasp, not clog up your midpipe and it will not matter what headers, downpipe and exhaust you have, there will be no rasp.

I don't have your number. Tuners? Where? We were trying to figure out where we can get the tC tuned after we installed the turbo, not to mention where to get it dyno'd now before the install. I met this guy in a 05/06 BC tC, he goes by CJ but his name is Carlos. He goes to UNCC, tinted stock tails and a short ram intake.

Aryan, I understand there are a lot more threads on rasp, I just wanted to know the best way to go from what I have specifically, say one of my components was known to produce a bad sound, like the TRD muffler... Thanks for the help guys, think I'll go resonator and make a decision on an axleback, since I really don't want to throw a cat back on lol. Still not sure which one would be best for either since they say the longer resonator the better and the AR25 seems a little short, so I'll figure it out and hope for the best.
