im really lookin into the hks right now b/c of the sound, but i dont want to buy an axle back for 350 and then have to do more work to the exhaust when i could just get a cat back for 350 .... im still decidin though. i need some more opinions on the exhausts

Do you really think that the mid pipe makes that much difference if at all... Striaght is straight. and the Diameter of the piping im sure is lager on the megan but i dont know if there are any dynos out there that compares midpipe replacement... but who knows... Like I said I went HKS because i like the look, sound and angle. not into the cans with silencer inserts and I just like the HKS can better. but go with whatever makes ya get dew drops on the end of your dong. Its up to you. Im just gonna pick up the MMW Header Spipe combo as stated above. stock midpipe is fine.
LOL
The midpipe is not just about power. You go ahead and combine the header/s-pipe with the HKS and see how that sounds....raspy (maybe not as bad w/MMW + HKS as other combos, but its still gonna be raspy). The Megan mid-pipe already has two resonators built in which fixes / reduces the rasp problem. IDEAL for people with a header. Not only will you have a better flowing exhaust, some more ponies, but also, it wont sound like crap! Of course you could do a custom mid-pipe instead of Megan, but for some people its just easier to order and bolt on the Megan pipe instead of the hassles of custom. Do what ya like tho, I don't care, I know my car will perform and sound great.

I agree with you, I wouldn't want to buy the axle back for $350 and then go out and spend a bunch more just to make it a cat-back. The thing is though, I already purchased my HKS before any cat-backs or separate mid-pipes were available. I love my HKS though, just like many others and I'm not going to get rid of it for some other cat-back just b/c I want a mid-pipe, I would rather just add a mid-pipe to my HKS.

If you get the HKS its not like you have to go and get a mid-pipe (or s-pipe or header) to add to it. It just depends on how far you want to go with it or how much you are willing to spend. Obviously the Megan cat-back would be more cost effective, but the HKS is also fine by itself.

yep, the HKS has:
1.) better quality finish
a.) powder coated stainless steel pipes
b.) perfect fitment
c.) doesnt touch the bumper (no burning of plastic)
d.) looks perfect if you like the JDM drift style (even people who hate the angled look loved how my HKS looked)
2.) sound is better
a.) and will stay that way longer because we know HKS uses advance material for their packaging which impacts the quality of the sound + rumble of the exhaust

LASTLY dont be cheap!
its like getting something for yourself ...
make your tC happy and proud! wear the original

beware of conterfeit brands like megan racing- the HKS wanna-be brand.

HKS = engineered and made in japan
megan racing = made in taiwan <-- this should go on a taiwanese car LOL

okay i m finished

Megan has perfect fitment, and no bumper burning.. it has all the great qualities you listed..

Its just what you prefer, I can gaurentee you the MR exhaust will pull hard on the top end vs the HKS..

Sorry man, never ever heard of anyone with that problem. It shouldn't be that way at all and if it is I would do somethin about it! Mine fits perfect.

one thing i notice is that if people dont read the instructions and mount the hanger correctly (on the wrong hole) the pipe would either hang too low, angled differently and/or touch the bumper

if installed perfectly
there should be no issues

yeah yeah hks hks this and that.. megan this and that...

im pretty sure megan is a good company im not hating...

HKS is kool just because its "japanese" made or makes ur car looks like a drift car whatever...

guess what our tC isnt even in japan haha... right now i don't even know if the japanese market is even paying attention to the tC ... i know american companies are cus the tCs are here in AMERICA. Sure its made in japan...

hehe i juss wanna get into the fun in this forum...

I dont even have either one of those exhaust anyway... But what i have is Magnaflow. If you want to go for looks and pay for a brand name... go for HKS it's loud and annoying like the tCs around my area.

If you want slight performance and blah blah go megan i dont know the sound on that though.

As for my magnaflow. I run K&N CAI, AW header, spipe, and the magnaflow catback also maganflow high flow resonator. And what i noticed or heard or seen my car is the quitest. It sounds like a g35 taking off =]

Anyway you dont have to go by me or something... It's your money dude spend it wisely or spend it however you want. You earned it... not the people here in the forums...

and all you saying hks fitment is perfect, i've seen many cases with it burning bumpers. and plus, remember you're paying more for less performance. i always say, function over form. i go for whichever performs better, and with the MR you get more performance for less money.

but then again, it'll be like a 1 whp difference, not like that really even matters so just go for whichever one you think sounds and looks better.
