other exhaust systems setup exactly like the megan catback gain about 12whp.

I'd like to see a dyno on just an exhaust that gives the tC 12whp I mean really...

you shouldn't really be basing exhaust on sound, isn't the original point of buying aftermarket exhausts to gain power though? "ricer" mindset says otherwise though, lol. style and sound!

No vids of HKS driveby?

IMHO, get what exhaust you can afford. Both exhausts will make noise. I knew I should have dyno'd my before and after of the Megan Catback..

Dude you are semi correct.. I'm 26 and the so called "Tuner" scene is NOT new to me and or my compadres. **** my first car was an AE86 hatch back in '95. Then an AW11 MR2 with the same 4AGE (16v) In my 'rolla. Been thru motors and trannys blah blah blah..I've been in the game for a while now and I USE think it's all about power. I still do for the most part. I wouldnt have bought the HKS if it wasnt for the fact the the company produces Quality parts. It looks great, sounds great and performs as to be expected from an Axel back. Maybe slightly better due to the straighter design but anyway. What I'm sayin is that the power from ANY of these exhuasts are gonna be minimal. The Stock tC piping really is suffiicent unless you plan on boosting hard. Otherwise its fine. Personally I wanted to NOT sound like a Riced out Honda boy or Half the **** that runs around today on the street in the so-called "Tuner" scene.. god i HATE that term. Any how There were factors in me choosing the HKS over any other of the Exhausts. For me my Number 1 thing was I DIDNT WANT it to sound like an ___ CAN. So I was fine with not gettin a Full "catback" . The power output difference between the full and the Axel back is minimal anyhow MAYBE a MAX of 3hp diff. So I went with the HKS for those reasons. If you want the Full Meagn and can live with the sound, build, and rasp, then get it, thats YOUR choice. No skin off my sack. Just get what you are looking for.

Sorry to bring this up. But can't you have a local shop mandrel bend some piping so you get a full 2.5 or 75 mm exhaust with the HKS. ya it will be a little more (probably close to 475 including everything) but it'll be higher quality

I went with the HKS, Why you ask, because i did not want to get rid of the stock Mid-Pipe. I want to unleash a little of the power without having to suffer through the noise. The HKS has a nice tone to it, cruising at highway speeds you don't even really hear it. So my .02 say

If you want the power, and don't mind the noise, go with Megan.

If you want the look, and still a increase in power, without the noise/rasp, go with the HKS.

But over all HKS >>> Megan

You can't argue with the reputation HKS has set.
