not to hijack or anything but i chose the hks. Its a quality product and hks is a company i can trust. Also its such a good piece taht if i go turbo i can always upgrade midpipe and such. So for 350 ish shipped i'm going with hks.

only the best for my tc

One thing I noticed about scion owners is that they are not willing to spring for mroe expensive parts. They can be somewhat well... cheap. Don't take offense to this but I am like this sometimes becasue like everyone else, I'm trying to get the most bang for my buck. Personally, I'd prefer the HKS exhaust over MR for my car because it is a much better product. HKS is produced in japan oppposed to the taiwanese company producing megan racing exhausts. The first version of the MR exhaust had fitment issues so this should give you a hint on the quality controll they have. Don't get me wrong, I've recommended MR exhausts to tons of friends who are on a budget. In the end, you get what you pay for. Plus, I get a really cool HKS sticker

P.S. People should really look into the tanabe concept G axelback exhausts. You can get them at showtoppersusa for $319 shipped. I'm surprised not everyone is ordering one.

i got a mr exhaust, and it sounds geat! there's no bumper burning, easy to install, and you'll get used to the sound within a day or 2... If you want the name, get hks, if you don't mind, get the MR. In the end, it's all up to you. All we can do is tell you what we like.

I have a Super White tC and have the factory scion body kit and i have NO burning what so ever... matter of fact if the Megan has more of a tilt that would point it RIGHT AT the bumper/kit. That would be even worse of a risk.. Just my opinion. It has a Really nice low deep growl and its not loud and annoying. But like I said its just my 2 cents. But i mean come on man its HKS!!!
how could you compare megan to apc... there is a big difference. you can;t walk into walmart or pep boys and find megan. and i hope it will never get to that point. so what hks has a name. not sure how long megan has been around... but maybe it's just a smaller company... and there just borderline... they have to be big time.. or they wouldn't have that pimp 350 that launched into the tree... i know apc doesn't have a fitty.. they have that cavalier and sunfire they give away in their drawings...

Like I said.. Im sure its all fine and dandy... Im not hating on it, just letting u know my opinion.. in which I also stated in the previous post that its... MY opinion. On top of that the HKS does sound much much better and if its the S pipe ur concerned about then get one.. You have to acknowledge HKS as a quality product. Megan is ok im sure.. Just not my flavor of Kool-Aid. If your into it then fine. I still say go HKS. S pipes can be bought later. Personally im down with gettin the MMW Header and Spipe combo. The Stock mid pipe is FINE. I would Imagine the Megan setup to be a bit raspy and louder then what I want. I like things to sound.... Good.
thats funny, i was followed then pulled up to by a guy that had a hks exhaust and we was loving my megan and said it sounded awesome and better than his hks. and when i took hom for a spin, he said it felt smoother and more powerful than his tc. granted i do have a header and s-pipe, but he loved the SOUND of my megan more than his HSK.. oh and do you possibly know the reason for the "rasp"? its because of the high flow of air. thats why you dont have it till you add a header. adn your going to get that with ANY catback and header combo. adding a s-pipe makes it worse. you have to get another resonator to tone it down

then why go with either, neither are "the best" one is "cheaply made" and the other is only a axleback. but i promise you that megan is not "cheaply made"

This thread is funny. I have the Megan Exhaust. There is no burn and no rasp. I have 0 fitment issues. Megan is def. not cheaply made. Its kind of funny that people have to be cheap to buy this product. I could have bought any exhaust that i wanted. I have the money, but i chose megan. Its was the best purchase for the money. I perfer to call it being smart.

word. i make $30/Hr at UPS as a plant engineer. i can afford whatever exhaust i want as well.... guess i just went the "cheap route" a well...considering i have about 20K invested into my twin turbo 300ZX, and my TC was paid off within the first 4 months of ownership after buying it new.. i better get a real job so i can afford the "good quality" things like HKS

hks is just better than megan racing

when have you heard any real "tuner" talk about putting some megan racing stuff on their machine?

Seriously, whats the point of comparing apples to oranges? Hks is an axel-back while MR is an s-pipe back exhaust system. Hks is the better choice in it class and MR is not too bad either and it has the best bang for your buck value between ALL exhausts. If we are talking brand prestige then hks takes the cake but every company at one point had to make a name for it self and MR is doing a great job, not just in the tC market. I would personally get the MR just because it is half the price of other exhaust systems (zpi, cc, draxas, etc.) and performance difference is not noticeable if there is any, trust me people. (I love when people say they can feel 1-3hp power gains) So, stop bickering and remember to each is own, just know the facts...

MedalionRacing is a nice exhaust. its affordable any comparable to all the other ones. Prestige is good, but bang for the buck is a lot more important..

My friends were talking about this the other day..
Would you rather have a $35,000 STi
~or~
a $90,000 Porsche 911 Turbo?

the 911 is a little faster, but are you willing to pay that extra $55,000???

NO WAY.

This thread is not really informative anymore. Just get what exhaust you can afford and what you like. They all are great choices..
