Default Megan exaust question.

My buddy has the Megan exaust with header, mid-pipe ect. His Megan developed this weird rasp after putting on the Header. It's a pretty anoying sound. I was like WTF. Well I ended up getting the same exaust only axel back. It wasn't really much louder than stock AT ALL. So I went and had the mid-pipe resignator cut out. It sounds much better. However now mine has the same damn rasp at high rpm. What do you guys think I should do about this. Is there anything that can be done about this?

No flaming please. I'm not a noob I'm just purplexed by this problem.

You could get crazy and ...

There are only about 7 million posts on 'rasp' and how to get rid of it. But to answer your question you may want to see if you can have your 'mid-pipe resonator' put back in. Just an idea...

lol yea dude, the resonator is wat kept your exhaust from sounding that way, so if anything just put a smaller resonator in and you should be fine. which megan exhaust? the drift spec?

I was thinking about just having a glass pack put in. It's basically the same thing as a resignator. Then I can choose the size.

that exhaust sounds good. it rumbles like the TRD. i have the drift spec, and mine is loud. i can't imagine how loud it's gonna be after the header.

i have the same OE axle back from megan i love the exhaust and i have the megan header as well, the exhaust itself is pretty quiet it purs when u accelerate and the rasp is normal for this setup i have no clue y but im use to it i actually like it now, to stop the rasp ur gonna have to weld on a resonator but in my opinion dont cause then ull lose power and the point of being a "bolt on ehxaust" cause then ur gonna have to cut off of the new midpipe to weld on a resonator which is pointless...this is jus my 2 cents though i have the same setup i jus need to get is the downpipe but thats up to u if the sound really does bother u
