Default midpipe hitting bottom of car

So before i had a 2.5 inch s-pipe my mid pipe would hit the bolt on a heat shield every once and a while. after it is installed it shakes like crazy and is constantly hitting it. Any one else have this problem? not only is it annoying i don't want to put a hole in my midpipe! if you do have this problem how did you fix it? And its the tsudo mid. Is that one just sucky and hits and others don't?

and the bolt that it's hittting is ground down to just the nut on it. theres no threads showing past that.

I posted thiks already in drivetrain and power but the fi forum is the only one that really sees any action so I figured id post it up here. I have a day off tomorrow and would like to fix this if I can.

From what I remember, I torched it.

what did you torch? I don't have a bolt on the heatshield. Just the nut holding the heatshield up. Should I just cut that off too? What is the point to that heat shield anyways?

I torched whatever was on the car. The melted metal is holding it up. The point of the heatshield is so the heat from the exhaust doesn't enter the cab.

More or less. My ex-mechanic did it, I hated having a turbo'd tC that clunk'd around like a piece of crap.

I miss that kit

Yeah I hate it. Its make not want to drive my car. I have it bungeed to hold it place a little bit witbh that black brace going across the middle of the midpipe which probably isn't a good idea. With out that its just ridiculous

I have the same mid n same problem, at first i put high temp silicone to dampen the rattle, but after i put my concept g on, it just kinda disappeared. I think tsudo is a hit or miss product, some work, some don't, so it seems somewhat inconsistent when it comes to buying their products.

if the hangers fail its supposed to catch your exhaust, no real reason for it

wow i've been searching forever and just now found this; quick question....does this seem to rattle worse when you get on it or when about 2500-3k rpm before gear shift?

Try posting in the drivetrain and power section you might get more replies there since this has nothing to do with force induction.

mine i had to cut the bolt on my heat shield for my trans too. it rattled there because my resonator was hitting it. no problem on the brace bar though. mine happened alllllll the time. the most was at idle and getting into gear though.
