I meant that I checked out different video clips on you tube. I liked the sound I was hearing. You said so yourself that your exhaust sounded like a stock g35. Most of the video clips were completely stock with just the Tanabe axleback. Hoping on achieving a similar sounding exhaust.

o did i say that? lol hehe mine right now sounds close to that very sexy. Stock with tanabe is pretty much near stock sound but with a lil more growl. U shuldnt trip about sound though, u already have an aftermarket header. This will definitaly improve your sound. And if not thers something wrong with your car haha. Post a clip once u get it.

Yeah, I got the Tanabe. Need to get a flange welded onto my ehaaust so I can bolt it on. I'm am pretty sure that this will do the trick. The muffler is almost twice the size as the Maganflow I currently have.

Bigger tip? That tip is probably where half the weight is. I think it look s tight. When installed can you see the muffler from the rear of the car?

half the weight is? you must be joking LOl a tip is just a muffler tip, its light as hell compared to the actuall muffler canister. the tip is basically same size as stock, i wanted it to be atleast half an inch bigger in diameter. and yea the tip looks good cuz its dual angled. instead of just a thin metal wall as a tip.

but anyway, you can see the muffler from the rear if your in a car or from a distance? hard to explain but u basically dont really see the muffler canister if your like standing up few feet behind it the car. the muffler is kinda hidden under the car since tanabe tried to give u the most clearance on the muffler incase u have a lowered car, and dont want to scrape on bumps.

all in all, u shuld like the exhaust. Favorite axleback imo.

I was just joking. I thought the tip was just the right size. I personally don't want my car to look too moded. Too many people out there that have too much time on their hands and they don't know what to do with their car. You can make your car look nice just don't put an oversized coffee can muffler on and like 15 gauge pods strewn across your dash board. Check out the thread about anti-ricers, it’s hilarious.

lol i kno wat yur talking about, but being anti rice is and having minimal attention from cops/haters, is why i chose to get an oem style muffler. Its already an oem sized canister as opposed to the coffe can, a bigger tip wouldnt hurt. something like a 115mm like the same tanabe medallion on g35's. its a big bitter which makes it look super sexy, but its still not ricer. anyway who m i to complain. post a vid soon i wanna c. lol then maybe this thread will be over.

Even with the Tanabe I still have some minimal rasp. Seems to diminish after the car is warmed up. I'm thinking of removing the stock remonator and adding another one. So two resonators total.

You think this woould be a good resonator?

Firefightin_tC, adding a header should be fine if you just take the proper precautions. A good muffler, resonator and a high flow CAT should be fine.

The rasp with the Tanabe is very minimal. The stock resonator is crap and adding a second one should kill it completely.

You shouldve just purchased an A/F midpipe to begin with. Wouldve been more simple and its much lighter. So was there a big difference between your tanabe and the magnaflow?

very different tones. With the Tanabe I only get a minimal rasp around 3500 rpm. Its a light metallic tingy sound. With the Managanflow I had rasp through 2500 to 4000 rpm. I ordered a 22 inch Magnaflow resonator to replace the stock resonator and a 18" resonator just for good measure. Will try just replacing the stock resonator and see if I even need the 18 inch.

Size does matter!! Just got my resonators welded in and the length of the resonators had a lot to do with eliminating the rasp. I got an 18" Magnaflow and a 22" Magnaflow resonator. That's a total of 40" of resonator. Rasp is gone and the resonators didn't change the tone/ volume of the exhaust.

Here's my setup-

DME header > Magnaflow High Flow CAT > 18" Magnaflow resonator > 22" Magnaflow resonator > Tanabe Medallion Touring exhaust.

Setup

Weapon R header w/Spipe/ Stock midpipe/ tsudo exhaust....

I got it installed sunday and I love the way it sounds when idle deep very throaty... now higher RPMS it sounds like a ____ed off bee.
Iwent to the muffler shop today to get an extra resonator installed on the midpipe but he said there is no room.

So how can some of you get multiple resonators installed with the stock midpipe?

What are suggestions. and links to websites so I can make some purchase about quieting my setup...

Its really annoying.

when i had the stock exhaust it was quiet... I guess thats the only solution.
