BTW, you can't get into reverse while you're moving forward. Even if somehow you managed to make it happen, everything (everything) in your drivetrain would literally explode.

I'm not sure if this is getting off topic, sorry if it is, but what is the differance of what he did to when people redline when they are just driving normal, like racing? You hear it all the time, especially in drifting, you can tell the driver is redlining and you can hear the engine sputtering. Is that ok? I've done that once before, just didn't shift in time.

becuz if he went into gear, from 3-2 instead of 4th say, at 65-70 mph, the force of the cars speed would force the engine to rev above the rev limiter, above redline, much higher. This is much worse the tapping the rev limiter.

well.. when driving/racing normally.. the ecu has a rev limiter that'll cut off the throttle at redline so you don't overrev and blow the engine.. downshifting on the otherhand can override that and have the engine rev over 9K if you want and then the engine will go bye-bye.
and doubt they'll do it under warranty... and esp. if something breaks.. it won't be covered... and they'll know...
it's driver error.

Do you think i still need a compression check, my car runs fine, like the day i bought it. And what would show up and/or need replaced if something was wrong? Headgasket? Valve seals?

When I first got my car I was so excited/inexperienced I took it off the dealer lot and went from 4 to 3 on the freeway a couple miles down the road. The tires chirped but I got the clutch engaged pretty quick after that. Needless to say I hated myself after that.

sorry for misinterpreting, when i meant idling at 4k is when im crusing at around 80mph i hear a whistling noise.. i dont know if im being just paranoid but i feel like my car's droning a lot more too...
note i have basic bolt ons, injen cai, trd exhaust, alphawerks header and 2.5 inch magnaflow resonator...
