Resonaters don't kill rasp. Cat's do. 2 cats placed to the back of your mid pipe would kill rasp. it took 2 cats a 30 inch resonater and a huge muffler to get the tC to it's stock sound. so if you kill one you need to add another.

and mengsta there is a huge difference between the touring medallion and the concept G

Uhmm yes i know there is a difference, the medallion touring is a much bigger muffler since its OEM style. No1 ever said resonators kill rasp, resonators reduce rasp. Also he doesnt want a stock sounding Tc, so 2 cats and a 30 inch resonator would be stupid. And wouldnt throwing on more cats just be an unecessary reduction of power.

Exactly, whats the point of getting a header and getting rid of one cat if you are just going to have another one welded on? Trust me, just get the tanabe medallion touring if you have a header and it will sound good. That way you dont need to loose power by getting resonators and cats welded on to your midpipe.

I dont think cats take away too much power if any.... 2Hp?? thats not even enough to make a difference.. all they do anyways is clean up the poo your exhaust throws into the atmosphere..... just my 2 cents

Uhmmm texas you say cats take away 2hp? 2hp in wat part of the powerband? and even if you are right 2 hp is practically all the hp you will get by putting on an aftermarket exhaust. The concept g will sound good with a midpipe and s-pipe. Headers will put you in a totall different ball park with sound though. Go try youtube. This thread should be over. lol

lol this thread SHOULD be over. headers give rasp, cats and resonators will help. i just installed a precision muffler on my injen intake, mmw header/s-pipe, stock midpipe setup, and yeahhhhh i think i'm going to have to go weld on a bigger resonator. doesn't sound horrible, but i think it'll sound a lot better without the rasp.
edit: my precision muffler's piping is 2.5", so that might have a little to do with it.

has anybody have any problems with this?

Cat's cause almost no power loss on N/A car's.

yea MMW has their own spipe to work with there header, their s pipe is shorter then OEM. And syldrin did you really have to quote me? lol when you say that, its just like saying exhaust causesalmost no power gain on N/A cars. removing cats contribute to that lil gain.

the reason it's shorter is to make room for the longer header. the header wraps around a lot longer than say, dc sports or alphaworks, which will work with stock s-pipe. the 4-2-1 design probably made the mmw a lot longer than other ones.

Exhaust do cause almost no power gains. they're just for sound. it's still a stock car even if it has an exaust a header or an intake.

i guess u can call it stock, if your racing in a pro stock car race, but generally changing out those parts dont mean "stock" just becuz u get ____ty gains.
