also i found this TSB one day after i remeber hearing about this somewhere. http://www.alldata.com/tsb/Scion/114...0000_EG018-06/ According to this it says that the 2AZ-FE should be using 0W-20. Except in the table on the second page all the other models using the 2AZ-FE Engine are listed except the tC so does this mean that i should disregard the TSB or should i disregard what the oil cap says and go with what the TSB says.
Somebody please tell me what is the right viscosity to use! Thanx!!!!

i used mobil1 in my 05 rolla but i've switching to royal purple because i read that royal purple and redline and only certain others (not mobil1) are "fully synthetic" others (like mobil1) are not. synthetic = better start up protection and better fuel economy more time between oil changes.

yea, thats interesting b/c I figured 5K would be on the safe side and 7K would even be ok. After all, they advertise synthetic as a LONG lasting/durable oil that lasts potentially up to 10K miles.
Any others willing to share how long they go between oil changes on synthetic?

I just did a oil change with mobil 1 synthetic today. Hopped on to an on ramp and did a 2nd gear pull and it was smooth all the way up to redline. You should have seen the oil that came out of the car. I will never take my car to the dealer for an oilchange again. They lsat tiem i did, the service punk was nice enough to light up my tires for me before handing me the keys.

The tsb says 5w-20, but you can use either. The 2 oils are VERY similar to one another and you'll be fine with either. Since you're on Long Island, right near me, what I do is use 5w-20 in the winter and fall and 5w-30 in the summer and spring. The heavier weight oil does better in hot temperatures and the lower weight for the cooler temps
