Default Motor tick!!!! AWWWHHHH HELP PLEASE

Okay i just put my motor in over the weekend and everything seemed fine then i started to drive around and now i have this tick/clanking noise.. its really annoying it sounds like something came apart and is moving around inside the valve cover by the timing. can someone please help me

the only way to tell is to remove the valve cover itself.

is it a really really loud tick? when do u hear it? while driving or when the car is idle? u sure its not the regular valve tick that every1 has? does it sound like its coming from the intake/right side of the engine bay or the actual motor? cause my actual motor ticks too idk wat it is but its not bad it goes away with a new oil change too but i have 80k miles aswell

it comes from the belt side it sounds like its comming from the timing chain at idle and while driving its really loud and clankly

what kind of work did you have on your motor? one friend has the same thing when there is a piece of loose metal sitting above his cams lol

Usually if its ticking coming from the valvetrain it is one of two things. One, its that you are very low on oil or two that oil is not getting up to the valvetrain (blockage)

or a lifter that is collapsed and not fully pumping up.

its a constant tick and i checked my oil and its fine. also my belt broke and i need to know if i could put a belt on with a smaller width

Why would you use a different rib belt?

long story short one of my pulleys is bent so it breaks belts so i need one with a small width

ive got the same thing you are fine. Ive had mine and driven my car probably harder then most people here for at least 5k miles and toyota says it normal its not going to go boom.

which pulley i work at a toyota dealer and i took a junk motor i can send it to you for the cost of shipping.
