Default Need Mapping for the Unichip

Here's how it goes.
i've just recently bought the Treadstone Turbo Kit with Boost Timer and Boost Controller, and also bought the Unichip Piggyback EMS. Now, I just got a hold of a store in which they told me, they would tune it, but I would probably need the mapping from me. Does anyone have a mapping that could help me out get this thing going?

If they are tunning it, shouldnt they be making the map for it? Turbonetics is the only one that uses the unichip as its tuning. So they might have a tC base map, but its not particular to your kit, so it would need ALOT of work.

So...ur talking about how much time tuning the this Unichip if the shop were to do this directly? and, the reason why i wanted to get a mapping is so that i can pay less whenever they started actually doing the mapping since they charge about 175 an hr for tuning the Unichip.

If they tune Unichip, they should have access to it, since they are an official Unichip tuning facility. No one else can tune Unichip.

I think you should find a new store. It sounds to me like they are inexperienced with the Unichip or just a tc application in general.

I talked to a place yesterday and they told me that since I didnt have a map the car would have to be there probley all day so it would cost me about $750 or $850 to get my car tuned. But the guy said to let him know a couple days before and he will try to get a base map from unichip to save me time and money.

You should expect to pay arouund $300-$400 for the tune. ANything over that is rediculous. Unless your tuning a standalone. But for a piggyback liks the Unichip, $300-$400 is about right.

(have them contact turbonetics or unichip to get a base map)

Or sell it and get the AEM f/ic and have a much better tune with a more workable system, for cheaper.

If you are looking for a base Turbo map for the Scion tC, there unfortunately isn’t one available – you will need the help of a Unichip Custom Tuner to create a performance map for you – they can be searched for by following the links on your vehicle’s page at www.unichip.us

This is what unichip emailed me back no word from tourbonetics yet.

I am sorry but there is no way that I can provide a tuneup for a system that we did not engineer. The liability would squarely fall on our shoulders for an engine problem. Out tuneup is not a base map, it is tuned precisely for our Scion tC kit.

Got the word back from turbonetics and this is what they said.
