This is the new Borla single pipe exhaust from Scion. It gives increased HP and includes a TRD Air Filter. Check it out.

Good job TRD...
the cat is located more towards the engine. the pipe given is about the same length as all the other companies call "axle back"

axle back:

catback:

see all the extra piping? about $200 extra in cost also.

is there a dyno anywhere for this axle back system?

borla.com says it's a "rear section" aka axleback

trdsparks.com has changed it to Axle-back from cat-back. What's the purpose of Axle backs? Sound?

my friend has a CAT BACK on his focus, and Borla makes some SWEET sounding exhaust systems.

he has not exhaust header, and it sounds really really pure, and deep.

there's no backfiring like in the honda civics haha.

borla is a good company and usually make good products

no power gains at least nothing worth the money.. maybe 3 hp at the crank, you might as well just buy a borla muffler you'll get the same sound and save money. if you want power, buy a header that deletes the precat, and then an exhaust system that deletes the second cat i think http://www.precisionmuffler.com/ has one but i'm not entirely sure

Default Borla Exhaust

We just put on our first one yesterday and the sound is similar to a V8 Mustang. Good and full, throaty sound. The exhaust comes with the Racing Reusable Filter like TRD's and IMHO, the exhaust appear to be putting out 6 to 8 HP. The TRD exhaust is only doing 3 HP. I don't have real test numbers but that's what it appears to be. The customer says the extra HP is definitely noticeable. I hope that helps.

How do you think the exhaust sound with the DC headers. The TRD exhaust sounded decent, but with the headers, it became a civic coffee can. I also heard the Ingen didnt sound too good either with headers. Will the Borla exhaust handle extra backflow better (soundwise)?

Default Headers?

I don't know and I bet nobody at Injen knows either. They wouldn't normally test that kind of thing, but I'm going to PM you their #.

if you have a race header theres nothing you can really do about the sound, it's just the way it is (i would think because there is alot less restriction)

back to the v8 mustang sound... you must be talking about the newer ones not the 5.0 (cause if its very very loud ...I dont know if it will look like on a toyota). ...does the sound do the car justic or does it make it look out of place?
