Default New Intake for the TC!!!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ksid=p3907.m29

What do yall think. Im still looking for a good SRI. The filter is too big on the injen; the trd is too expensive; the WR is bad - what about this?

Anyone know anything about the top fuel power chamber?

trd is great, you get what you paid for. works great, sounds great, has a bypass valve.

i wouldn't buy some unknown stuff off ebay. doesn't even have a picture of it installed on a tc. probably a pretty generic intake.

isn't that pretty expensive for something that looks like a shortram?

You can say that an intake is an intake and it doesnt matter which one u get but i wouldnt trust an ebay intake for its a generic POS IMHO. I believe in u get what u pay for. Whether its for more reliable materials used and better design but id suggest the injen sri in your case as its dyno proven to give the best gains compared to all the other brands out there and i dont know what u mean by too big of a filter? It will fit fine.

Rumor has it that the when the injen is setup as a SRI the filter rubs badly - or that it is too big; am I wrong?

Thanks

Im either going to go with the top fuel or the trd - likely

O really? Didnt know the injen sri rubs or anything but then again i have the injen cai. Dont know about the top fuel intake for i dont anyone that has it, but the trd one is cool. It may be a lil pricey but its good quality and reliable source. All i know is i dont like to put cheap stuff on my car, so i dont just get whatever is cheaper, i go for the choice of better quality, but thats just me.

What justifies calling that a "Stage 2" intake?

But being an SRI it is sucking in hot air anyway.... so what is the purpose of the divider?

afe makes a good filter.. Not to say I would buy that ugly thing but I have seen the afe filter out perform the K&N. in an airflow test. Another filter you might check out is www.greenfilterusa.com both are just as good as the K&N

to out perform a particular brand's filter isnt too tough sometimes..... at times it has to do w/ the fact that companies reduce filtration to get better flow.

Its not a rumor, it does rub when you set it up as a short ram, but it works great as a cold air set-up, why do want a short ram? if you dont mind me asking....

I live in Oklahoma City - I commute to law school everyday rain or shine. I have gone through some huge puddles in the fall/winter and I cannot afford to have a "down day" with my car. Although its not a rainy spot - the drainage is terrible and rain water pools up - to a point where a full cold air setup may be a bad idea - further - Im a novice when it comes to mods - and I have no desire to take the bumper off of my car - so I was thinking a sri setup would work best for me - or I may go with the trd/bypass combo - although its so damn expensive. I mean its like 1/4 of the cost of the supercharger.

Ok, now don't forget that the intake has to be completely submerged under water for your engine to hydrolock(I could be wrong thou, so you might want to do some research before you make your decision), that has to be a big o puddle to do that. BTW...you do not need to take off the bumper to install the remaining tube of the cold air system, all you need to do is take the rim off, take off part of the wheel well splash guard(starting from the front of the bumper moving towers the back of the car) and that should give you the clearance you need for the install. I remember reading somewhere here that you can just buy a bypass valve and add it to the injen set-up, but don't quote me on that, either way hope you find what suites you, thanks.

I've never heard of AFE, but apparently they make intakes for a bunch of different cars/truck like Injen. They also make replacement stock filters like K&N.
