That is correct but if you look and read the description. You will see that this intake product retains the factory upper air box portion like I said in previous posts hehe. So maf mounting is not an issue because I will be using my 07 intake upper box anyway.

I understand where you are coming from.

But this intake actually looks promising since it retain the OEM style, just eliminates the restriction that exists with the OEM intake to begin with. Restrictions such as the resonator on the piping and the "straw" hole that the OEM intake gets it's air from haha. I guess its just based on tastes. But this intake seems pretty cool. I just wanted to start a discussion. I already came to the conclusion that this will work on a 07 no problem. Its just not CARBED for the 07+ which is why the PN only states for the 05-06.

Anybody else have this? I want some opinions from current owners haha.

This I think was designed for providing power without giving too much attention. We have had this unit on our website for the past 6-7 months.

http://www.dezod.com/pd-kn-typhoon-intaketc.cfm

We have had a few calls, PMs and emails about it, but other than that, nothing else.

Yea but 300 some dollars for basically a short ram intake is insane. You can to the all of that stuff you mentioned for like 40 bucks. drisotope has the direction on his site to modify the oem intake to where he saw some decent temperature decreases.

I am not saying the price is justifiable by any means. Let me clarify that.

I understand why you would do that, thanks for the advice.

But I'd rather not swiss cheese my OEM intake box =). Just in case I ever need it back or whatever.

one thing i wondered was how/if it would work with a S/C'd tC.

you could probably modify the intake tube to work with the supercharger.

My thoughts exactly. If you did, it would probably work some wonders for it.

thats why i bought a spare unmodified on ebay for $15. the lower half is the same for all tC, so you dont have to worry about specific model years (like the maf sensor).

Oh cool yeah buying a spare would be a good idea, if I did that. Once I get this intake, I will let you guys know how it is. In terms of fitment and quality and my thoughts on it.

if this installs like i think it does, i wouldn't need to modify anything.
just install the lower frame/heatshield and that filter to the top half of the airbox.

the tubing to the throttle body wouldn't be needed at all. the intake tubing for the supercharger should still be able to mate up the the top half of the intake like normal.

Yup just ditch the K&N tubing as well, you are right. Just use the lower portion. I believe this is a cool design. The price is just high for what you receive compared to other intakes, which is why not a lot of people are on this.

Don't mean to bump an old thread that seems like it kinda died, but I believe I promised a few members on here that I would show them the conclusion once I got the item.

Overall I am very happy about the intake. If you have the extra money to spend on an intake, I would recommend this. Bought it, love it, and I don't have any plans to try any other intake. Plus this is the only CARB intake for the 05-06. Intake will fit 07+ with no problems, but the CARB number shouldn't be valid. Contact us for sales on this intake.
