Nitto Jotech Modified tC (500 hp)

true enough, try lite silt and mud
On a RWD, you can let off the gas and counter steer. On a FWD you just are into complete understeer till either you hit something, or you scub off enough speed to make the turn. Just check out drift racing, sure it is crazy buy a RWD can be controled, while a FWD just is into the wall.

lol

Too funny $10,000 worth of engine plus stock tC = blown Vette stomper. Yeah right, in your dreams.
OK I stopped laughing, what was this tC going to beat the Vette in? Engine destruction, I’m sure it will. AutoX, ¼ mile, street spank down, road race, canyon carver. What?
I worked on a Lingenfelter twin turbo Vette. 550 WHP, mid 11s with street tires, .95 g turns. What is the highest HP pump gas 4 banger? 350 WHP… maybe a little more, go ahead and find me a pump gas dyno on a 4 banger above 400 WHP. There is a pump gas dyno shootout every year, last year a Supra on spray + turbo won at 511 WHP. Even with an engine, the tC stock with FWD, no LSD, no suspension, poor tires. You think $10,000 into a tC engine into a stock tC can even beat a stock Z06 in ANY performance criteria? I mean beside MPG which I’m sure would be close.
Reality hits as $10,000 into a tC’s engine still yields far less then stock Z06, might not even be able beat a stock Z28 in any category which could be had for sub $20,000.
Picky up the latest ricer mag and the HKS RSX-S has $75,000 into it and a bone stock 06 Z06 would destroy the car. THAT MY FRIEND IS REALLITY. That is a STOCK Vette vs a $75,000 pro built RSX-S with turbo, you still think $10,000 slammed into a stock tC’s engine is gonna turn a tC into a blown Vette stomper?
ummm you have seen the stage 3 tc that scionspeed.com has that runs 12 flat right???? dont stock Z06's run about the same?????

The scionspeed "car" is far more then an otherwise "stock" tC? More like a stripped out race gas, slick, LSD, vendor "car". I've seen stock, 100% stock street tire Z06 into the low 12s and I'm sure the new 500 HP Z06 will be deepinto the 11s.

bleh you people are lame! comparing a 4 banger to 8 cyclinder cars. talk about comparing apples to oranges! Why compare the TC to something with a bigger engine? Well no crap the M3 is gonna have more power potential so will a Z28. So there for your 10k will go a ways. If anything compare the TC to an RSX. Both are 4 bangers. Just seems silly to me that you compare a 4 cyclinder car to 8cyclinder cars.

first off i think saying only a 12.76 is a little degrading for that kind of speed and second http://scionspeed.com/videos/v120secrun.mpg
they did a new run the 12.76 was with there stage 2 kit

well you should know your cars, cause an LS1 Camaro has fiber doors that are light in fact the whole car is at 3400 lbs with a 5.7 liter engine. If you want pork check outside cause the tC is 2900 lbs with a 4 banger.
Yep compare a 4 banger to a V8 or a straight 6 is insane, clearly the V8 is the better performance platform. But guess what ? they are both cars and you drive and race what you are packing. The only lame excuse is when the loser has to cry that he has a smaller engine... I would think $10,000 into the engine should at least get it upto stock production V8 performance.
Truth is $10,000 slapped onto a $15,000 car does not make a $65,000 car crusher, thats reality.
I own a tC and even with the mods I want to put on it is just a little better then a STOCK SRT in terms of performance no where near STOCK M3, Vette, Z28, etc and I'm putting far more then engine mods into my tC. But like the guy above said it is a 4 banger what can you expect? At least I'm realistic about what to expect and it ain't no blown Vette stomper....

i never said any thing about stomping a blown vett but a stock ZO6 would loose to the scion speed tc that was the only point i made also you cant say these mods would be over 10k

um we said car which goes down the street, how fast is this 12 second tC with street tires and pump gas? Lots slower then a stock Z06 and BTW the current Z06 is in or will be deep into the 11s, pump gas street tire. I don't know why you guys are fighting reality. A streetable 4 banger is going to get spanked by a 6.0 500 HP factory built ultra high performance car no matter how much money you put into it.
#54
I'm gonna agree with oldman on the fact that the new '06 Z06 owns any tC running on pump gas.
aarontrini85, I'd be willing to bet $10K that all the stuff you listed easily tops $10K and without doing internal work to the engine, you'd be lucky to get 5K miles out of it. Keep in mind ScionSpeed is purposely trying to break this engine.

or B) the engine already has forged internals.
Just like when I got my GS-R and was looking at forged pistons I called a few vendors and wanted a reference. One said Drag is running our pistons, and I said hey Drag tells me they are running their setup on a stock GS-R to test reliability. After the laughter died down, I was back to reality which is In the performance business, everything that you can’t see is stock and it is the single application of vendor specific parts that is providing all the HP and reliability, so all turbo kits will be on stock engines till the vendors start selling forged pistons and all of a sudden these forged pistons have been tested over the last year under brutal conditions…
Back to a FWD 4 banger, with street tires, street-able suspension, and pump gas, mid to high 12’s is about the limit of the platform and engine no matter the $$$$$ pump into it. To go faster requires: stripped out car with fiber parts, race gas, slicks, and silly ¼ mile only suspensions. On a RWD car or 4 WD 11s or even 10s can be had on a street-able setup, I know I know everybody and his brother got a pure street 11 second turbo Honda…
