Noob question on Air Diversion Panels
Are they worth it? I'm running N/A right now with a turbo in the distant future. What would it do for me if anything?
Probably stupid questions, but dont know much on the topic. I tried doing a search on the subject in the threads, but just found advertisements.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks

well, GReddy says "air diversion panels are designed to not only improve under the engine looks, but to contain airflow to the radiator core, thus, improve cooling efficiency".
imo, the hood pretty much does that when it's closed, but i'd suggest you decide for yourself. keep in mind you'll get a neat logo when you open the hood, and folk who have bought them will have a different opinion than me.

I have the panel and it's totally aesthetic... no performance gain, or possibility for performance gain... the hood has a nice seal that does a good job... docI has a cheaper plastic option, and monstor motorworks makes one... but it's pretty much to make the bay look better and fill the hole there.

looks like doc finally fixed the waviness by chopping the plate down.
Here's one reason to get the plate....matching everything else in the bay! (Polished stuff + Greddy Catch Can, Greddy Strut Bar) Kinda wish I got the polished intake now too....Gonna have to get that thing coated or something....

I do the same thing.
I've been thinking about removing the stickers and painting the whole cover nautical blue. the engine cover is already in teh paint shop getting color matched. I've been thinking about the fuse box also. Too much blue?

its cosmetic.
I have the dme one.
the hood already has a seal, there is NO WAY air is going from the grill to the engine bay. its freakin completely sealed when the hood is down. You drive a tc dont you?
pop the hood and look at it.

I know I certainly don't claim any performance increase. But it will save the time you would ordinarily lose by dropping tools into that gap and then having to fish them out. And as Engifineer has pointed out on several occasions, makes a great beverage holder.

i have the DME adp and i have also heard of it being an anti-theft device, keeps people from poping out the grille and opening the hood from the inside to disconnect the battery to disable the alarm...
disclaimer: dont really know if that true of not, like i said, its what i heard
