Default o2 sensor. HELP!!

so i installed some strup headers on my tc last nite but my friends and i couldn't get the o2 sensor off the stock header. we tried doing everything but it just didn't move. i am probally going to buy a new one. but until then, is it safe to run the car without an o2 sensor?

no its not safe to run without an o2 sensor. You may need to get something like penetrating oil to get it to budge.

very simple..

get either wd40... or penetrating lube... u can also get anti seize (all can be bought at autozone etc)

spray on the sensor and let it soat for about 10 minutes.. slide your socket wrnech on it and it should twist of much easier... you can also get a metal pipe and slide it over the wrench to give you extra leverage...or similar to a breaker bar..

that should help.. new sensor costs 150 bucks so try it before u go breaking ur bank...

from what i've heard, it is a hit or miss whether or not a universal o2 sensor will work. if somebody can prove this wrong, go ahead.

you have to wire it up with your old clip.. the problem is sometimes those universal o2 sensors 1. are cheap and burn out quickly. 2. 4 wires are in 2 colors lol so u dont know which wire is which most of the time... so u might wind up rewiring it 4 times at most before u get it right lol

Dont pay under 85 for even a universal o2 sensor, splicing them into the old clip is complected enough besides the fact that that one probably doesn't come with a splice kit your goning to have a lot of problems just get some Wd-40 and a o2 sensor socket and break it loose

ahh a blowtorch never fails, as long as you didnt hit the actual sensor or wires iut should be fine.

Hey while we're on the subject of o2 sensors, do any of you know if installing a cat-less exhaust manifold will throw a check engine light with the second sensor in the downpipe? just wanting to know if any of you guys have ran into this problem. Hopefully it doesn't throw a code because I can get a good header and downpipe for cheap.

it is a toss up is it will throw a code, but it can be fixed easy, just use the search for antifouler fix
