Default OBX LSD?

I saw an OBX racing LSD for the scion tc for 450 bucks. Anybody heard about this brand or even better does anybody have it? Im always worried about ebay products but just want some opinions.

OBX is a knock off brand. Usually the same in operation as the competitor (Quaife or TRD), but undoubtedly far worse in quality. Considering that this LSD is less than half of the TRD/Quaife one, I'd be skeptical too.

I found these just looking around the web. Granted, these are for Honda not Scion, but research is research.

So far I found lots of good with some bad (reviews). Most of the Honda guys who had them work took them to a transmission shop for a re shimming and other rebuilding. I want to try it out but I don't feel like being the sacrificial goat...so I'll wait

Edit: Most of the issues I read are caused by washers being completely wrong, and over or under torqued bolts...

^^^ Yeah, that was sort of the point of the second link. (I read all six pages before posting. :D) The guy took it apart, rebuilt what needed to be rebuilt, installed it, and had no problems at all.

Still, it is a knock-off so I'd be very careful with it, and have it inspected and installed by an expert.

Hell no!

I mean...uh....sure......

Edit: In all seriousness, I wouldn't have a problem putting a knock-off in my car. There are just too many questions right now that I don't have the money to answer. :D

whoah.....phantom grip is nothing like a real LSD, phantom grip is a metal sandwich with springs that goes in the middle of the stock differential, a diffential that is not meant to be beaten on like that

now the OBX LSD is an acctuall LSD!! not top quality like quaife, but a true LSD nonetheless

i would put an OBX lsd long before i even looked at phantom grip...... my .02cents
