Catback mini review
Exhaust installed. mini review first, pics, and videos to come
Intro
exhaust came on friday, two days after i ordered. pretty fast if you asked me. i bought the catback 'cause i could not stand the sound of being stock ( i went from TRD to HKS to stock, did not like being quiet :/) so after researching a butt load about this exhaust i decided to order it (off their ebay store, and before their price increase!)
First Impression
oh mannn was the box beat up when it came, one hanger carved a nice gash thru the box, corners were crunched up. i'm surprised it held together haha. anyway, at least the contents were in great shape. everything was shiny and spotless. contents includes a raceland catalog, muffler, midpipe 1, midpipe 2, 3 sets of bolts/nuts, 3 gaskets. muffler has the infamous silencer, a raceland badge spot welded on, and tip gas an angle to it
Quality
unfortunately this is my first catback system i've bought/installed so i can't really compare to any other catbacks out there. however i had a friend who is more educated on the topic there at the time. he noted bad mandrel bends, funky welds, and that the flanges weren't perfectly flat. no biggie
Installing
well it's pretty straight forward, take off old exhaust. (WD40 REALLY helps with removing rubber hangers), install muffler first, then raised new (bolt up the midpipe first) midpipe into position. helps if you have a friend or helper. hardest part was unscrewing the bolts from where the midpipe meets the s-pipe. no space at all! just use an extension and breaker bar. bolt up and you're ready to go. the muffler/tip sits perfectly! not too low or high.
Sound
damn this thing is loud. definitely louder than the HKS hi-powered axle back i had previously... and this is with the silencer still on! (havent figured out a way to remove it, any thots?) no rasp, however i will say it's a fart cannon haha, hopefully removing the silencer will solve it. slight rattle against a heat shield.. easily fixable. overall fitment is great!
Conclusion
well i can sum this up by saying.. it's definitely worth the price (i got it for around $150) but there are far better exhaust out there but youll have to shell out more money. for about an axleback's cost, you can get yourself a decent good looking catback. also, i'm not expecting any HP gains from this so no dyno test or anything . so yeah, great fitment and cheap, super satisfied!
Pictures!
oh yeah, i raised my car so i can go rallying tomorrow haha
gawd damn i hate the way the silencer looks, needs to come off asap

For real, hey when you got the exhaust how many flange gaskets did it come with? I am curious if it came with a spare one for the s-pipe since i'm getting a used s-pipe from someone as well?

i can't get it off! i removed all (3) allen screws.. tried pulling it with this thing i made. won't budge. dont ask why.. but i tried hammering the silencer.. but it only made the thing go in more. argggg, where's my dremel and drill

I got a CEL because one of the gray vacuum hoses were being pinched. I fixed the problem and the vacuum line is no longer being pinched but my question is do I have to disconnect the battery in order for the CEL light to go off or do I need to just drive around a little and then it will go out on its own?.....
