^^ true point...but if memory serves... don't/didn't most TRD brand CAI's come with the hyrdo-shield? Or was that an extra part people with the TRD CAI's usually bought? Any that I've seen running all the way into the fender have one installed.

I just keep my Injen CAI a Short Ram setup... no problems, no worries..and easy to maintain

Oh and I used to live in AZ... Kinda surprised that you're having this problem now instead of like mid August there during the monsoons lol.
But any time it rains out there... always the risk of flooding.

Funny, my brother lived in Phoenix for a year and that was his #1 negative stereotype of the area. He worked service at a honda dealer: "Every time it rains we get more ricers with hydrolocked motors..."

If water splashed on your filter, it is probably a toasted motor. If it won't start, try pulling all four plugs and looking for water in the cylinders. If it will start and runs fine, you got lucky, but if it starts and sounds funny, could be a bent rod, rod knock, or a half dozen other failures.

How fast were you going when you went through the puddle? (assuming that's what happened)
