does anyone other than gude performance make ported throttle bodies for the tc?

Back when the tC first came out and performance parts started to flood the market Alphawerks had a throttle body they were working and trying to release for the tC. I believe they sold one but it was never publicly released due to CEL. After porting the throttle body and installing a new bigger butterfly valve it would cause a CEL stating incorrect angle of throttle plate. I spoke to Alphawerks several times on this as I wanted one. The best thing to do would be to have the throttle body bored out from top to bottom turning it into a velocity stack therefore you wouldn't have to worry about issues resulting from installing a larger throttle plate.

that is the same issue we are going through with the Yaris TB........people are using the one from the xD to replace the stock one,so far a few people have gotten it to work and with no piggy back it is keeping car running smooth after it warms up.

Is there a throttle body that will fit on our motors from another toyota motor that has larger body and butterfly.?????

i remember an old thread that says the RX8 TB is identical to ours but 70mm, same connectors and everything but i have yet to hear of anyone that has done it.

I will keep everyone updated i'm looking at a rx-8 tb sometime this week. If it looks like it will fit ill try it out.

I remember seeing that before as well but don't recall anyone actually doing it. I'll ask the shop with my car to look into this if I need it, because they work on a lot of RX-8's.

Also keep in mind it could hurt you unless you have a lot of supporting mods with it.

I have I/H/E and light crank pulley. after the tb im looking at getting the wr intake mani. then get tuned.

No the one on the right is welded closed to have a smaller bore.

lol ok.the picture would be much better if it had been taken looking down at both of them so you get a better idea of the difference.

You guys should also look into the throttle tune from World motorsports, It gets rid of the electronic delay and makes the throttle a lot more responsive, like a cable.

Everyone thinks there is a electronic delay even if there is its less than a second, the problem is the engine response which can easily be fixed with one step colder plugs, lighter flywheel, and tuning.

I thought the delay wasn't that much either until I put the throttle tune on, it made me a believer, this was after I had my car tuned to.

I am interested in a port throttle body to, has anyone on here tried gude's?
