possible hyrolocking???
so today there was a big storm and i had to drive for a while then my check engine light came on and the cars power went down a bit but it could be just because of the CEL.. but my ? is could my intake have possibly sucked in a dangerous amount of water bacause of big puddle ...help quick plz cuz i dont wanna risk drivin the car like that thnx

I doubt it was hydrolocking, if it was, you wouldn't be driving. Maybe the MAF sensor got some water in it or something. The CEL probably put the car into limp mode which is why there is less power. Get the code read for free at autozone and update us with the code info.

alot of puddles some big some small not to big though im not that stupid to go through with CAI nd it a fujita if it helps...the cars power is less everytime i turn it on but it might be in limp mode but now my idle rpms are Low at like 500-700

Guess I can add my input.
One day I was driving to a friends apartment towards Baton Rouge in LA.
Dead stop in a bowl shaped road the water started building up VERY fastly. My car is dropped on S-techs. On the outside i had a 14inch water line from the ground. My Injen CAI sucked up water into the throttle body, I had 2 inches of water under my seats. And I had to tow the car home (45minutes)
Water also went up threw my exhaust up to the header and down into the engine
After vaccuming water out of the spark plug holes, and drying out the TB and CAI. And after sucking all the water out of the car. I had to change my oil 11 times to get ALL of the water out of it.
Imagine changing your oil and seeing Caramel oil come pouring out lollllll.
Once I got the car to turn over and the oil was looking new. I dogged the crap out of it to blow all the water out the back of my exhaust and so on.
My tC is running perfectly fine now
Engine build is about to start too (Pistons_rods_bearings etc..) all that good stuff about to go in. If i find something intertaining i'll let you know how it turned out

you guys need to give it up with those fujitas, i have seen a large increase in posts about this intake causing CELs...
stick with WR or AEM or Injen if thats your type of thing...
also Top Fuel has a bad A$$ SRI for the tc...

the cel light is just becuase of moisture.. unless you get stuck like in a deep puddle (id say about 12-15 inchs? then your fine.. its just moisture and will dry out eventually and the cel will go away on its own

a good intake should not give you a CEL for any reason.
Example: i ran a WR for about a year with no problems, switched to a bobo ebay CAI in the STYLE of the fujita (2.75) and whenever i switched octanes 87,89,93 i would get a CEL for catalyst efficiency diminished
it would eventually go off but i got sick of it switched back to the WR and havent had a CEL since regardless of what octane i run.

just like everyone else said the CEL is/was on bcuz of moisture....
now if u were to hydrolock your engine, just like everyone else already said, you wouldnt be driving the car anymore. once enough water gets in the engine shuts off and dies...i did it a few months ago when we have the 3 days straight of rain. not fun.

Injen CAI FTMFW!!!
I like when it whitles. I had a few people ask me "what kind of turbo you running?" Or when you press on the gas hard enough whil at a constant speed it sounds like a quiet little BOV lol.
As far as loud.....whyw ould you want that. Go for the quiet sleep tC so no one knows you have that intake that addes 1-2hp!!
