just installed my evo2. first impressions were, "good god its loud" lol when I drive moderately its pretty decent but when I punch it the header and exhaust jus aren't a good combo, wayyy to loud and raspy. now idk I'm kinda in a dilemma I have 3 different options.

mind u I'm running header stock spipe stock midpipe and greddy evo2. should I?

A. get rid of the header and get a stock one? (I know this will definatly kill the loudness and rasp.)

B. get a resonator welded on to my stock midpipe? if so what size? (will this kill a lot of the loudness?)

C. get rid of the axleback for another axleback? sumthing alittle more quieter?

don't get me wrong I love this thing it looks so sick and it does have potential to sound amazing its jus too damn loud lol maybe its cause I haven't driven with an axleback other then my stock for awhile? who knows. so yeah help me out guys ill pot pics and sound clips.

it looks like that what I might be going for man, it sounds like it has potential to be soo sick but it kills me how loud and raspy it is.

yeah any header sounds absolutely horrible on our car, no matter what is done to it, not anywhere near worth it. i have never, ever heard a tC with an aftermarket header that sounded anywhere remotely good.

but the evo2, without an aftermarket header, have that awesome deep grumble to it

you haven't heard my car then

i would go with option B, get a good resonator or two welded in your midpipe. i like the gains i got with my header too much to go back to stock.

if it were me though i would get an aftermarket s-pipe, and get a custom made midpipe entirely, don't bother modding the stock midpipe.. that's just retarded. custom will sound great, just tell your muffler shop what you want and they'll make it sound good.

idk I jus feel like its to much of a hassle to get the exhaust to sound ok with the header, I would want to keep it but eh I don't wana spend 80 bucks on one resonator then have to spend however much to have it installed, not worth it especially on my stock midpipe I had a megan mispipe and spipe but me thinking it would be EVEN louder I tok them off and gave them to my friend. I'm jus gonna get a stock header cut the heatshield off and polish it up. then maybe get an spipe and midpipe again to finish it off, jus no header.

there's this one guy running a full catback, headers, custom mid-pipe and with a megan oe-rs axle back and it sounds really good and quiet. its on youtube somewhere. i forgot the name of the video. he actually has several videos of his setup too.

yeah but the oe-rs isnt an open style exhaust its restricting jus like stock but not as much, i had the oe-rs and my header and exhaust didnt sound loud or raspy at all, thats one exhaust that goes well with a header. but canister style exhausts dont go well with them. i had the oe-rs very quiet exhaust little rumble but not raspy with the header
