Ok, here are my pics of cleaning the MAF sensor if its dirty.
"In my case, it wasnt so I didnt clean it"
Here is the stock air intake and the MAF sensor on top of it:
Here is the close up of the MAF sensor:
There are two screws on there that needs to be taken off, but first remove the plug then the screws. Be very careful not to drop or loose these screws. Put them in a secure place.
Here is the actual MAF sensor once removed from the intake:
There will be two little wires in there. That's what you need to check to see if its dirty. If it is then proceed to the next step, if its silver and or shiny, no need to clean.
Here is the bottle of electronic cleaner I would have used. It leaves no residue, quick dry, and wont degrade plastic or rubber much:
Ok, since I had only one hand free I had to place the sensor on the ground to shoot this.
But hold the sensor out with one hand and spray it with the cleaner with an attached precision tube lightly from at least 6ins, then move in a little and out. Dont shoot it out for a long prolonged time. "Its so small, you wouldn't want to blast it broken" And its expensive to replace.
Then let it dry out for at least an hour, and reinstall it, pulg it in, disconnect the neg terminal from the battery and then reattach it and start up your car. Cut off the engine and reset your windows.
Resetting your windows.
Passenger side: Open it all the way and then close it all the way and hold on the button to close it for 5secs. Then check on the driver side to see if the pass side will work from there. If not, do it again and hold it for 10secs.
Sunroof: Hold on the close button for 5-10 secs. Then open it to see if it works, if not do it again.
Taking off the negative terminal off the battery and re connecting it will reset the ECU, to get new readings off the cleaned MAF sensor. Its a good idea to reset it also for an air filter change. Resetting the windows and sunroof also.

so then there's no chance of damaging the MAF sensor just by cleaning it??I mean that just spray it gently with the cleaner spray and not touch it.
Also I posted another thread about this, and would a dirty MAF sensor give good idle, but poor fuel economy?
