Default Putting Oil on the Intake

I bought the Tenzo R cold air intake but using it for short ram. I read one of your posts and it said that the filter is not oiled. Every intake I have bought they have been oiled so I never had to oil them. So my question is how do you oil them? Is it a certain type of oil? I should of got a Fujita.

some filters do not need oil, like the AEM dryflow one. That might be something similar to that.

if it does require oil then you wanna look into the K&N filter charger cleaning kit. It comes with a spray can of oil and a bottle of cleaning solution. You want to spray the crap out of the filter with the oil until it starts to drip.

Actually that would be excessive. I have K&N filters on everything, including my bike. The oil has a dye to it for a reason. Spray the filter lightly after cleaning. Let the filter sit for about 1/2 hour and respray any area that doesn't have even dye color to it. If you over oil the filter it can draw some of the oil into your MAF/MAP sensor and foul it.

^^we just had a big problem with the K&N filter on one or our company trucks. Maybe its the filter or maybe its the lack of enough oil on the filter but the engine was destroyed. The intake had caked on dirt inside as well as the manifold. The engine sucked in so much crap that it was more worth it to replace the engine. I personally have cleaned that filter and did as you described. we used the K&N filter charger on all our company trucks and keep a regular maintenance schedule. The mechanic said we didn't use enough oil on the filter and suggested we soak em in oil.
