Default QTEC Electric Cutout

Could this really give some gains to our cars?

Because it's seems to me that this thing would be the same as running with no axle back. But they claimed some respectable hp gains in various cars mentioned in their site

On a boosted tC absolutely you will see gains. I doubt little to none with N/A..

i had one on my honda before. it works great, but there are massive leaks on the butterfly plate. Even when fully shut, exhaust gases still leak through.

no axleback was dyno'd a long time ago, it showed 5whp gain..

I have one on my tc and there are no leaks at all when fully closed, great sound and yes I do feel the difference when its fully opened. It works great

I know you need 10" of clearance in order for it to fit.

I would imagine you would lose some serious tq on an NA because of the loss of backpressure, I have one on my wrx and its great, but on an NA I am not sure.

It would be cool if you could have it open to the rpm of the motor (higher the rpm the more it opens), dont know how much it would do for na.

bump...

i got mines last week, unfortunately the next day, my neighbor decided to smash my door on 6/6/06. anyway, wondering where u put it cuz i wanted it after the secondary O2 sensor. only place i can think of is after the s-pipe/midpipe flange and before the secondary cat. not sure if its goin to fit though.

Probably right after the header would be better. Unfortunately I have not seen this devise in person so I can not guess at where it could fit but probably at the base of the header facing downward. I would probably try and get some after market header (probably a Megan) and just cut that up so I could always go back to stock and try to make it so that only the header part actually gets modified.

i would put it right after the midpipe.

You need 10" of clearance for the cutout, idk if it would fit.
