Quick Enough?
Hey guys, I have a buddy of mine who likes to talk smack about all the cars he has, and I was wondering, he has a 1994 mustang v6, could my tc (in April!!!) with headers, trd axelback, and light weight pulley have a chance against it?

those v6 mustangs were dog slow, personally, if they were keeping a econo version they should have just stuck with the 2.3 liter and then still had the V8, the V6 really was a waste of money IMO. Even the new V6 is slow. I call it the "looks like a mustang" :D
But whether or not you beat him depends on the mods for both cars and the driver. But yes, keep it on the track.

i was wondering the same thing. The older stangs with the 4 point slow were easy kills in my truck but the new 05+ runs 13's Got killed in my tc in the straights and he couldnt shift. Hoping going turbo will put me into the 13's and ill be able to win again.
Personaly tho, ive never lost in the corners :D especially against a stang

I dont thing the V8's are slow all around, but I also dont think that mid 13's (actually, the numbers I have seen are high 13's) are all that great for something as pumped up in the ads as a mustang either. But yes, for a street car they are quick. But also keep in mind that I dont judge solely off of 0-60 or 1/4 mile times either. Now the shelby 2007 is pretty damned fast, but hardly what you will see 99% of people driving. I have always been skeptical of the stang, even though there aer a lot of them I liked (mainly the late 80's, fox body cars, I really dont like most of the rest of them looks wise, especially the older ones). They were never meant to be fast, people just wanted to compete with other muscle cars and started building them, so ford tried to suit what they wanted. They were originally meant to be a family sedan. Over the years people have made some very nice and fast ones, but they always seem to fall short of the competition in many ways. Just my personal opinion though.
But the V6 is outright dissapointing. They are slow as crap. They built it so people who cant afford the V8 can "have a stang".
They will do the same for the chevy camaro too, since they are offering a v6 version. Hopefully it doesnt dissapoint as well. IMO if I am buying a car that is supposed to be a sports car, I am not even considering the slow version.

i would say if he had no mods, and you had your basic mods...it would be a drivers race.....then again, every mustang i have dragged at the track, i've beaten....but then again, i am FI....haha...good luck though
