Default The Rasp is Driving Me Nuts.

Just had a Magnaflow exhaust installed on my 07 and the rasp is killer. At about 4000 rpm the rasp is really annoying. I am stuck about what to do.

I am looking for a deep throaty sound that doesn't sound like a rice rocket. I have heard good things about flowmaster mufflers. Any thoughts on Flowmasters?

Any suggestions on what type of muffler/exhaust I should get?

I have a DME header and a Injen CAI if that makes much of a difference.

search, scion tC + any combination of aftermarket header and exhaust equals rasp, if you want to get rid of it, have a resonator put on.

I had the stock resonator put on after I test drove it and I am still getting the rasp. This isn't the typical rasp though. Its so loud and annoying that I am forced to drive like an old man.

rofl i had a 30" resonator with my mmw header with a catback exhaust...well without the resonator, same as you, i was embarrased to even drive the car, it was soo loud and raspy even at 3k rpms........after the resonator install it got better but when you punch it, raaaaaaaaasspy!!! so i got rid of it....but resonator works....get 2 14" or 1 30"...that'll do the trick, it will still be raspy during start ups, when it warms up, your good to go..

get a vibrant high flow cat ... you removed both you cats now you need to add a high flow one on the mid pipe

I did a lot of research into this....and the best thing to go with is either a 30" resonator or a combination of a high flow cat and resonator. Which my cat is 12" long and my resonator is 18". I recommend magnaflow for the cat and resonator, they sound the best to combine with most exhaust. I went with the trd exhaust cause it seemed to be the most quiet, cause around where I live they still stop me for the exhaust saying it doesn't look stock. But I still make due, cause the combination sounds amazing and I get compliments all the time.

yup - you want to get 2 small resonators that equal about 30" total size - that will surely do it. My stock setup came with a 16" or 14" and then i added another one
